Angela Collins joined RGG Law to practice bankruptcy and family law. She has a bachelor’s in psychology from Missouri State University and a law degree from University of Tulsa College of Law. During law school, she was editor of Tulsa Law Review and a Merit Scholarship recipient. Her previous experience includes serving at Riezman Berger in St. Louis and at Whiteaker & Wilson PC in Springfield.

Springfield attorney Thomas Strong was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to the state’s Coordinating Board for Higher Education, which governs the activities of the Missouri Department of Higher Education. Strong has practiced law in Springfield since 1957. His term on the board is slated to end in 2012.

Attorney Jeff Bauer of Strong, Garner & Bauer PC, was named to the 2010 list of The Best Lawyers in America. His practice areas include personal injury, wrongful death and product liability. Several members of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association received awards at The Missouri Bar Association’s Oct. 1 awards banquet. Recipients and awards are: John S. Pratt Jr., Roger P. Krumm Family Law Award; Lisa Marie Sims, Pro Bono Award; and Sen. Jack Goodman, Legislative Award. Sara Forhetz of KY3 Inc. also received the Excellence in Legal Journalism Award during the event.

Springfield attorneys Gregory Dorhorst and Laurel Stevenson attended a mediation and problem-solving training session presented by The Missouri Bar at Lake of the Ozarks. Both serve as volunteers in The Missouri Bar’s Complaint Resolution Program, a public service for individuals who have filed consumer-type complaints against their lawyers.

Missouri Lawyers Media honored four members of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association with its Up and Coming Award. The award recognizes attorneys who are younger than 40 and in the first decades of their careers for their efforts in the legal profession and the community. Local recipients are: Neil Chanter, Strong, Garner & Bauer PC; Matthew Growcock, Lathrop & Gage LLP; Trace Johnson, Baird, Lightner, Millsap & Harpool PC and Todd Myers, Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Steve Garner, shareholder and officer with Strong, Garner & Bauer PC, was named Springfield’s Best Lawyers Personal Injury Litigator of the Year in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.  

Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Darrell Moore was named Prosecutor of the Year by the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys on Oct. 1.

Ron Baird, attorney and founder of Baird, Lightner, Millsap & Harpool, was named Springfield’s Best Lawyers Family Lawyer of the Year for 2011 in the latest The Best Lawyers in America Publication.[[In-content Ad]]
