GYN Cancers Alliance received a $27,000 grant from the C.W. Titus Foundation, of Tulsa, Okla., for general operations, serving women in 22 counties who are facing gynecologic cancers.

Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar achieved a Stage 7 Award from HIMSS Analytics for achieving a virtually paperless patient record environment and the most comprehensive use of electronic medical records. HIMSS Analytics, a division of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, has granted Stage 7 status to 31 other hospitals.  

The HOPE Foundation –  – has installed its inaugural officers and board of directors. HOPE, which stands for Helping Overcome Pediatric Emergencies, will disperse money directly to families dealing with pediatric emergencies that are not covered by national foundations or insurance. Leading the group are: Toni Hendricks, president; Amy Murfield, vice president; Bruce Helm, secretary; Kasey White, treasurer; and board members Crystal Conway, Ryan Jones, Amy Pope, Heidi Bliel, Michelle Bunge, Michelle Flehmer, Jana Barnes, Cammie Hunsaker, Rita Baron, Natalie Miller, Don Aripoli, Dave Puckett, Nicole Grover, Tiffany Jump and Lindsay Haymes.

Gregory D. Johnson, CEO and administrator of Cox Monett Hospital, was elected to a one-year term as president of the Missouri Hospital Association’s southwest district council. As one of six council presidents, he presides over council meetings and guides discussions on MHA policies and activities.

Mid-America Transplant Services is recognizing St. John’s efforts to encourage organ and tissue donation with an original piece of artwork, “The Flame of Life.” In 2009, 35 families agreed to organ donation at St. John’s, resulting in 125 life-saving transplants. An additional 77 families consented to tissue donation at St. John’s in 2009, resulting in tissue transplants for more than 3,000 people.
