Dr. Chad Morgan, a neurosurgeon at Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute LLC, has achieved certification from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Morgan completed medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed a residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical School. He also completed a fellowship in complex spinal surgery at Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati.
The American Heart Association recognized 12 businesses in its southwest Missouri region – Springfield, Joplin, Bolivar and Mount Vernon – for participation in its Start! Fit Friendly Companies program, which encourages physical activity, nutrition and healthy enhancements such as on-site walking routes, annual employee health risk assessments and healthy snacks. Two companies – Employee Benefit Design LLC and Jordan Valley Community Health Center – achieved platinum level, the highest available through the program. Gold status was achieved by: American National Property and Casualty Co., Duck Creek Technologies Inc., Freeman Health System-Joplin, Integrity Home Care, Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Missouri Southern State University-Joplin, Missouri State University, Positronic Industries Inc., Missouri Association of Manufacturers Health Care Consortium and St. John’s Regional Medical Center-Joplin.
St. John’s Health System received a Consumer Choice Award from National Research Corp. and was featured in the Oct. 18 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. To confer the award, NRC’s Ticker Study polled more than 250,000 U.S. households, asking more than 200 questions about health care in their communities.[[In-content Ad]]
