BKD LLP named Justin Roberts assistant director of BKD National Office Accounting & Auditing. A 2001 graduate of Missouri Southern State University with an accounting degree, Roberts has served for more than six years in the firm's Joplin office as a member of the BKD Manufacturing & Distribution Group. In his new role, he reviews assurance engagements, provides technical support and training to auditors, performs internal office inspections and peer reviews, and helps develop guidelines for new accounting and auditing standards.

Guaranty Bank promoted Matt Keeth to loan review officer. Keeth, a graduate of Missouri State University, also holds a Master of Business Administration from Drury University. He joined Guaranty Bank nearly two years ago and formerly was a financial analyst for BKD Corporate Finance LLC. He previously served Guaranty Bank as a credit analyst. In his new role, Keeth will work with the bank's director of risk management to implement procedures and policies for the bank's loan functions.

Springfield Investment Services LLC, which serves individuals and businesses in the First Home Savings Bank network, hired Michelle R. Smith as a financial adviser. Smith is a graduate of Iowa State University and has held her securities and insurance licenses since 1992.

Trust Company of the Ozarks hired Sharon Brown as senior vice president. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Drury University. She has more than 25 years of experience in financial and estate planning, including time in trust division management for area banks.

Mary Terry joined Trust Company of the Ozarks as an administrative assistant. She has more than 12 years of experience in the financial industry, including eight spent in the trust department of a local bank.

James Hallam, financial adviser with Merrill Lynch in Springfield, earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation, given to financial advisers who complete an 11-module study course, pass a comprehensive exam and sign an ethics designation. Hallam is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

West Plains Bank and Trust Co. promoted David M. Gohn to president and chief operating officer. He succeeds his father, David Gohn, as president, though the elder Gohn remains CEO and chairman of the board. David M. Gohn holds a bachelor's degree in business administration, with an emphasis in finance and banking, from University of Missouri-Columbia. He also is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and has completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, a program sponsored by the American Bankers Association. Gohn joined the bank in 2005, serving as vice president of the bank and its holding company, West Plains Bancshares Inc. Prior to joining the bank, he was an attorney in the Springfield office of Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP.
