Adam T. Eadens, a financial adviser with Waddell & Reed in Springfield, earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning. In addition to work-experience requirements, designees also must study several financial topics, including insurance, investments, income tax, retirement and estates.

Arvest Bank promoted Christine Glauber to regional treasury management services officer in Springfield and Joplin. She joined Arvest in 2008 as a commercial relationship manager for Arvest in Joplin. Prior to that, she worked in finance positions at Leggett & Platt Inc. In her new role, Glauber sells and services treasury management accounts for business customers and is responsible for business development. She holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from the University of Missouri and a master's degree from the Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in Houston.

Brian Hammons, president and CEO of Stockton-based Hammons Products Co., was appointed to serve as an advisory director for UMB Bank in Springfield. Hammons holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Missouri State University and a juris doctor from Southern Methodist University Law School in Dallas.

Metropolitan National Bank hired Lisa King as a private banking assistant. King joined Metropolitan's South National Avenue banking center in October and has extensive experience in finance and private banking.

Candice Reed joined The Commerce Trust Co. as assistant vice president and wealth management consultant. Reed is a graduate of Missouri State University and has 12 years of experience in banking and business. In her new role, Reed helps clients manage trusts and investments and develops, builds and retains referral relationships.

H. Justin Giles joined Empire Bank as assistant vice president/retail sales manager. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from Missouri State University and more than seven years of banking experience. At Empire, he is responsible for providing leadership for all branches to reach financial, sales and profitability goals.

The H&R Block office at 2600 N. Kansas Expressway received the Audit Certificate of Accomplishment 100 Percent Club Award for the 2009 Tax Season. The recognition is an independent auditor award presented by HSBC Bank to verify that H&R Block associates are complying with rules and regulations.

Eric Atkinson, vice president of wealth management and financial adviser with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, earned the Certified Financial Planner designation from the CFP Board of Standards. The CFP exam covers several topics, including risk management, investments, retirement and employee benefits, and there also are continuing education and ethical requirements. Atkinson, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, has 23 years of financial services experience.

Shannon Workman joined the management team of Peoples Bank of the Ozarks as manager of its Fordland branch. Workman, a Webster County native, has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, including positions in operations, merchant services and management.

Sean Balisle, a certified public accountant and shareholder with Kirkpatrick, Phillips & Miller CPAs PC attended the 2009 Accounting and Auditing Roundtable at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Panelists discussed accounting issues related to the current economic environment.

Rod Miller, a certified financial planner with Piatchek & Associates, passed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 53 exam and is qualified as a principal and financial officer empowered to supervise municipal securities research and trading.

Sunni Odle, a staff accountant with Dunton & Associates LLC, recently was certified as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Missouri State University and has been with the firm for three and a half years.

Jeremiah Mee joined Dunton & Associates LLC as a manager. Mee, a certified public accountant, holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Missouri State University. He has more than 16 years of accounting experience.
