Architecture Sapp Design Associates Architects PC staff member Bonnie Crawford completed her architectural registration exams and received her state architecture license. Crawford joined the firm in June 2005 after graduating from the Hammons School of Architecture at Drury University. She is also accredited in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.
Banking Metropolitan National Bank promoted Sharon Terry-Day to executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer. Terry-Day, who holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University, has worked at Metropolitan for 15 years.
Construction The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield named Matt Bailey of Bailey Co. as 2012 Builder of the Year and Tidwell Concrete Inc. as Associate Company of the Year. The group also recognized Debra Speake, co-owner of Springfield Electric, as Associate Individual of the Year.
Education The Missouri Colleges Fund received a $20,000 grant through the Edward Jones Scholars Program, which funds student scholarships for business-related studies at 17 member institutions, including Drury, Evangel and Southwest Baptist universites.
Health Care Heathcarefirst Inc. was featured in the inaugural ranking of Inc. magazine’s Hire Power Awards, which recognized private businesses that have added the most jobs in the past three years. The company ranked fifth in Missouri by adding 81 jobs between 2008 and 2011, a 307 percent growth rate.
Dr. Diane Lipscomb joined Mercy Clinic Pediatric Critical Care. Lipscomb completed her residency at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and received her medical education at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Sunthosh Parvathaneni was hired to work in Mercy Cardiology. Parvathaneni completed his residency at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and received his medical education from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Mercy Springfield Occupational Medicine was recertified for the third time by the National Association of Occupational Health Providers.
Mercy registered nurse Dea Geujen was named administrative clinical director for Mercy Orthopedic Hospital Springfield. She joined Mercy in 2003.
Mercy emergency physician Dr. Charles Sheppard received the 2012 Air Medical Physicians Association President’s Award. Sheppard directs Mercy’s Life Line and has served on the AMPA board since 2007; he was a featured speaker at this year’s AMPA Medical Director’s conference in Seattle.
Arkansas State University master’s in nursing graduate Taronda Calvin joined Mercy Anesthesiology.
Skaggs Regional Medical Center pulmonary nurse Teresa Hogan was honored by the California-based Daisy Foundation. The Daisy award is given to nurses who make a difference in the lives of their patients and patients’ families.
Hospitality John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts named Tony Moody regional vice president. Moody manages operations at 16 hotels across six Midwestern states. He is a 27-year veteran in the hospitality industry and previously served as general manager of JQH Hotels’ La Vista complex in Omaha, Neb.
Law Sheila Rennison joined the staff of Legal Services of Southern Missouri. As managing attorney for the Rolla office covering 12 counties in south-central Missouri, Rennison handles family law, consumer, landlord-tenant, bankruptcy and income maintenance cases. Rennison previously worked in private practice.
The Missouri Supreme Court appointed Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown PC attorney Jennifer Huckfeldt to the Missouri Board of Law Examiners. Huckfeldt joins five other attorneys to the board for a nine-year term.
Manufacturing Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co. named Michelle Heidt vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Heidt is a graduate of MSU with 14 years of accounting experience including evaluating, planning and managing financial functions.
Services Hogan Land Title hired Emily Laurie as marketing director. Laurie previously worked as a sales and marketing specialist for SRC Electrical.
The Rogersville Area Chamber of Commerce awarded the 2012 Business of the Year Award to Wildcat Tool Rental. The company’s community contributions included donations of tools for local schools and the senior center.
