Education Paul Kincaid, the chief of staff and assistant to the president for university relations at Missouri State University, received the Virginia Carter Smith Recognition Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District VI. The award is presented to senior advancement professionals, with exceptional service to CASE, who have retired or plan to. Kincaid has set an Oct. 1 retirement date.
College of the Ozarks hired Jennifer Ann Carey as K-8 curriculum director and lead teacher for the School of the Ozarks’ addition of the lower grades. Carey has a bachelor’s in elementary education from Southwest Baptist University and formerly served as a curriculum coordinator of Richland school’s gifted program and as a fifth-grade teacher.
Marylynne Abbott, an Ozarks Technical Community College mathematics instructor, was recognized for excellence in e-learning by the Instructional Technology Council. Abbott is one of four nominees for the eLearning Faculty Award to be honored at ITC’s February eLearning Conference in Orlando, Fla. Abbott is OTC’s lead online mathematic instructor and teaches seated and online courses.
Health Care Dr. Numthip Chitravas of Ferrell-Duncan Clinic became one of 10 Missouri neurologists certified in epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Chitravas attended medical school at Ramathibodi Hospital-Mahidol University, in Bangkok, Thailand, and is board certified in neurology and neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.
Law Strong-Garner-Bauer PC attorneys Neil Chanter and Jeff Bauer were named 2014 Lawyers of the Year by Best Lawyers publication.
