Architecture
Logan Hayes joined Esterly, Schneider & Associates Inc. as a project designer. Hayes, who holds a master’s of architecture from Kansas State University, is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.

Banking & Finance
Metropolitan National Bank promoted Kelley Lemons to vice president and data processing manager and Justin Wolfe to assistant vice president and senior network administrator. Lemons joined Metropolitan National in 2010, and Wolfe joined the bank in 2008, after working in the city of Springfield’s IT Department.

BancorpSouth Insurance Services and Ollis & Co. were named as 2012 Best Practices Agencies by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America in conjunction with Reagan Consulting. The association is a national alliance of more than 250,000 business owners and their employees.

Empire Bank and Investor Services added 31-year financial services veteran Danny O’Neal as an investment officer. A longtime Webster County resident who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Missouri State University, O’Neal holds designations as Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Advisor for Senior Living.

Education
MSU named Sonda Ropp Reinartz as director of the campus bookstore. Reinartz has managed college bookstores dating back to 1989, most recently at Augustana College the last six years.

Teachers Kathy McGrane and Alma Pettenger of Glendale High School and Stephanie Blake of Parkview High School earned National Board Certification based on standards met from 10 teacher-reviewed assessments.

The College of Business at MSU named Vickie Hicks its corporate relations specialist. Hicks is responsible for developing and managing placement of undergraduate and graduate business students with internships and employment.

Ann Elwell, community relations coordinator at Webster University’s Ozarks Regional Campus, was selected to participate in a global staff exchange and teach at a Webster campus in Leiden, Netherlands. She was one of four Webster staff worldwide to be selected for the biennial program.

Government
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Assistant Attorney General Elizabeth Bock to serve as associate circuit judge for Douglas County. Bock replaces the Hon. R. Craig Carter, who has been elected as judge for the 44th Circuit. Bock has served as the assistant attorney general since 1999 and previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Greene County. Bock obtained her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her bachelor’s degree from William Woods University.

Nixon nominated Don Ruzicka, of Mount Vernon, to serve on the seven-member Board of Probation and Parole. Ruzicka, whose appointment is pending state Senate confirmation, currently serves as representative of the 132nd District in the Missouri House of Representatives. He worked for 27 years as an agent in the Missouri Conservation Department.

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., was selected to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which reviews policies related to national defense. Blunt has left the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence but retained positions on the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations; the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; and the U.S. Senate Rules and Administration Committee.

Health Care
Parkcrest Dental Group added Drs. Joe Dills and Jason Hall to the practice. Dills brings 11 years of dental experience, while Hall has 16 years of experience.

Tiffani Killingsworth was selected to lead Parkcrest’s administrative staff, succeeding Deanna Ford who had served the dental practice for 20 years. Killingsworth holds 17 years of medical and dental administrative experience.

Dr. Jeffrey Greenspoon joined the CoxHealth Regional Perinatal Center, where he is practicing maternal-fetal medicine. Greenwood attended medical school at the University of Southern California and completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics-Gynecology.

Dr. Deatrice Kellogg began working with senior adults at Cox Senior Health Center South. Kellogg attended medical school at St. Louis University and completed her residency with St. Louis University Family Practice. She is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and specializes in geriatrics.

The quarterly Daisy Foundation award has been conferred to three CoxHealth nurses: Bryan Marsh, Jenny Power and Tara Shoemaker. The national award recognizes the education, training, skill and compassionate care nurses provide.

The Missouri Chapter of the March of Dimes named Diane Hopkins-Broyles of CoxHealth Quality Management and Heidi Clark of the Cox Monett Emergency Room as 2012 Nurses of the Year. Hopkins-Broyles and Clark were chosen out of 150 nominations and 17 winners across Missouri.

Hospitality
The Hiltons of Branson named Lisa Jones as director of sales and marketing for Branson Convention Center, Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing Hotel. Jones joined Hilton Worldwide in 2001 and most recently served as the assistant director of sales for Hilton Americas-Houston.

University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center won the 2012 Hospitality Award in the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau’s annual Salute to Travel & Tourism Awards. In addition, the CVB presented the Ambassador Award to the Missouri Dairy Forum, recognizing the trade show for securing a convention in Springfield. Leah Hamilton, executive director of the Springfield Regional Arts Council, received the Spotlight Award, which honors her contributions to the advancement of the Springfield area.

Insurance
Springfield Farmers Insurance agent Jessica Bland completed the five-day Career Agents Course at the University of Farmers training facility in Michigan.

Law
Husch Blackwell LLP in Springfield named Richard Russell partner. He joined the firm in 2005 and his practice focuses in areas including trusts and estates, tax law and charitable giving. Russell received a law degree from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s in accountancy from Arizona State University.

Attorney Sativa Boatman-Sloan joined the legal staff of The Piatchek Law Firm LLC. She continues her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, probate, real estate and business law.

Marketing
Cory Goode joined Engage5w as a content strategist working with small businesses and community organizations for social media marketing. Goode brings communication experience to the position after roles in ministry, professional network developer and as a small-business social media manager.

Nonprofit
Jeanna Callahan, Britni Fear, Kathleen Kimball and Carrie Neblett were appointed to the Killuminati Foundation’s 2013 Board of Directors to guide the nonprofit in offering financial veterinarian assistance for nonroutine animal care.[[In-content Ad]]
