Andie Bottrell joined Piatchek & Associates Inc. as a client relations manager. Bottrell, who has worked as an accounting liaison and in Web-based communications, holds a bachelor’s from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Education
Missouri State University maintained registration with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to offer a bachelor’s in finance with an emphasis in financial planning and meet the education requirements for CFP certification.

The Missouri Mathematics and Science Coalition selected Garrett Lowder, a Nixa Public Schools teacher at John Thomas School of Discovery, as a 2014 STEM Educator Award winner. Ten Missouri educators were recognized for developing and delivering innovative educational practices in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.   

Government
The Digital Communities Program by e.Republic and the Center for Digital Government recognized Springfield among the top-ranked cities in the 2014 Digital Cities Survey. Springfield ranked sixth in the 125,000-249,000 population category for efforts to improve transparency with open government initiatives and access to city services via mobile apps and reducing costs through advanced analytics and performance measures.

Health Care
The Joint Commission recognized Cox Medical Center Branson as a 2013 Top Performer on key quality measures. The health center was one of 1,224 U.S. hospitals honored for accountability measures in the areas of surgical care, pneumonia, heart failure and heart attack.

Becker’s Healthcare selected Medical Consulting Group LLC for its 2015 list of ambulatory service center management and development companies to watch. The company specializes in ambulatory surgery center development, medical practice consulting and surgical practice consulting.

Insurance
Charles Jackson, a representative with Modern Woodmen of America, completed a five-day training program at the company’s home office in Rock Island, Ill. The program covered such topics as technology, fraternalism and underwriting.

Law
Paul Satterwhite joined Spencer Fane Britt & Browne LLP as a partner in the labor and employment group. He previously practiced law at Husch Blackwell LLP.

The Supreme Court of Missouri Historical Society elected Springfield lawyers Richard Schnake as president and Craig Street as secretary/treasurer. A member of the society’s board of trustees since 1999, Schnake is a partner with Neale & Newman LLP. Street, who previously worked at Neale & Newman, now serves as chief staff attorney for the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Manufacturing
Justen Klemme joined Tank Components Industries as a salesman. He holds a bachelor’s in construction management from MSU.

Retail
Bass Pro Shops distributed $10,000 to 10 Springfield neighborhood associations after surveying participants of the retailer’s Conservation Marathon about the neighborhoods that most visibly supported and motivated runners. Grant Beach Neighborhood Association received top honors with a $2,000 prize after its representatives dressed as Renaissance cheerleaders. Six neighborhoods – Robberson, Tom Watkins, Rountree, Westside, Bradford Park and Woodland Heights – each earned $1,000, and Bissett, Oak Grove and West Central received $500 apiece.

Utilities
The American Academy of Water Resources Engineers designated City Utilities Project Manager Roddy Rogers a water resources engineer diplomate. Accredited by the Council of Engineering & Scientific Specialty Boards, the recognaition is the highest post-license certification available for water resources engineers. Roddy, who has 30 years of experience in the field, joins 650 professionals worldwide with the designation.[[In-content Ad]]
