Great Southern Bank promoted Bryan Tiede to the newly created role of vice president and corporate secretary. He previously was vice president and chief risk officer, and he’s been succeeded in those roles by Ryan Storey. Tiede joined Great Southern in 2007, and his career includes nine years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. A Great Southern employee since 2004, Storey previously served as the company’s vice president and director of loan operations.

Table Rock Community Bank hired James Coffer as president of its newly launched mortgage division. Coffer’s hiring follows 15 years in mortgage banking at OakStar Bank, most recently as president of mortgage banking. Coffer is working with loan officer Paul Eckert and loan processor Brooke Black for the division that serves all of Table Rock Community Bank’s markets.

Phil Melugin was elected to The Bank of Missouri Board of Directors at holding company Reliable Community Bancshares Inc.’s May meeting. Melugin is co-founder and CEO of Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, which posted $194.4 million in 2024 revenue.

Esports
Missouri State University’s esports team defeated Mount Saint Mary’s University in the grand final of the Overwatch video game tournament at the National Esports Collegiate Conference Project I National Championship. The tournament was held in May in San Antonio, Texas.

Equipment rental
Springfield-based Superior Rents & Sales Inc. ranked No. 6 for 2022-24 percentage revenue growth in its category of companies with $10 million or more in annual equipment rental revenue in Rental Management magazine’s annual Market Movers list. The magazine is the official publication of the American Rental Association. With 2022-24 growth of 42%, Superior Rents reported 2024 revenue of $21 million, up from $14.8 million in 2022.

Government
Travis Morrissey, fire marshal with the Springfield Fire Department, was awarded Investigator of the Year honors by the Missouri Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of arson investigation. Morrissey has nearly 25 years of service to the city of Springfield.

Media
Mid-West Family Broadcasting radio stations won myriad honors at the 2025 Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards. Q102.1 was named Medium Market Radio Station of the Year and won the category of Best Video Content by a Radio Station for Tiny Room Concerts: Pop Evil Interview with Crews; 104.7 The Cave took home the Best Podcast honor for At Home With Emily; and 105.1 The Bull received the Best Commercial Announcement award for its Chicken Salad Chick advertisement.

Restaurant
Springfield-area Domino’s Pizza franchisees Art Hurteau and Marty Prather won the 2025 Gold Franny Award for operational excellence. The honor marks the 10th Gold Franny Award for Hurteau and Prather, who have nearly 100 years of combined experience with Domino’s. The business partners operate 41 Domino’s franchises in the Springfield area and northwest Arkansas.

Rotary
The Springfield Southeast Rotary Club honored Jim Cummings, Ben Grote and Jason Miller at the annual Vocational Excellence Awards Ceremony in June. The awards honor individuals who demonstrate dedication and a commitment to well-being in vocational service. Cummings is a paramedic with Mercy Emergency Medical Services, and Grote and Miller are a sergeant and investigator, respectively, with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
