Revel Advertising hired Shanda Trautman as director of accounts, working to develop the agency’s portfolio of local and regional accounts and to maintain relationships with existing clientele. Trautman previously worked as an account executive at KY3 Inc. and as director of selection and development at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

Banking and Finance
James Reed joined Springfield First Community Bank as assistant vice president of operations. He has 21 years of experience in branch supervisory and customer contact positions.

First Home Bank promoted Kyle Langham to assistant vice president and deposit services manager. Previously the operations manager for the Springfield banking center, Langham has six years of banking experience.

Education
Southwest Baptist University selected Darren Crowder to lead enrollment efforts at as the dean of enrollment management, part of the president’s executive cabinet. With 16 years of experience at SBU in a variety of roles, including director of admission, Crowder holds a bachelor’s in religious education from the school.

Niki Kennedy of Missouri State University was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant for an English teaching assistantship in Germany from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Kennedy, who graduated in May from MSU after majoring in German and English literature, will travel abroad for the 2014-15 academic year.

Government
The American Public Gas Association appointed City Utilities’ Distribution Director Gary Gibson to a three-year term on its board of directors. The association represents 700 publicly owned natural gas distributors in 36 states.

Health Care
Carolyn Beard, an assistant nurse manager with cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at CoxHealth’s Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center, was selected as president-elect of the Missouri/Kansas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab. Beard currently serves the association as a program certification reviewer, assisting in certification of rehab programs across the nation.
