Engineering Jennifer Winslow joined Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. as a mechanical systems engineer. Winslow, who received a bachelor’s in architectural engineering from Kansas State University, has nine years of experience.
Health Care U.S. News & World Report recognized CoxHealth in its Best Hospitals rankings as “high performing” in any medical specialty, and specifically in specialty categories ear, nose and throat; gastroenterology; gynecology; neurology and neurosurgery; and pulmonology. Of the more than 100 hospitals in Missouri, CoxHealth tied for No. 4 in the state rankings, which are largely based on objective measures of hospital performance and resources, such as patient survival rates and nurse staffing levels.
Dr. Logan Banks, a physician and faculty member in the Cox Family Medicine Residency program, received the President’s Award from the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. The award is presented annually to an osteopathic physician who has been in practice 10 years or less.
Mercy Clinic announced several new hires, including Dr. Tarif Bakdash, a board-certified pediatric neurologist, neurophysiologist and pediatrician. Bakdash has 20 years of experience in health care and studied at Harvard, Cleveland Clinic, Baylor College of Medicine, Rush St. Luke’s University and Henry Ford Hospital. He also earned a master’s of health science in bioethics from the University of Toronto on a grant from the United Nations.
Drs. Pamela Banoth, Swe Myo and Nikhil Organti joined Mercy Clinic Hospitalists-Springfield. Banoth earned a medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India and completed a residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. Myo earned a medical degree from the Institute of Medicine in Mandalay, Myanmar, and completed an internal medicine residency at St. Barnabas in Bronx, N.Y. Organti received his medical education from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India, and completed an internal medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, N.Y.
Dr. Blanca Musete joined Mercy Children’s Urgent Care at Smith Glynn Callaway. Musete earned a medical degree at Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, and she completed a pediatric residency at Brooklyn Hospital in New York. Dr. Kimberly Creach joined Mercy Clinic Radiation Oncology at the Chub O’Reilly Cancer Center. Creach earned a medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed a radiation oncology residency at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Dr. Clayton Hall joined Mercy Clinic Anesthesiology. He is a graduate of Saskatchewan School of Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and he completed residency training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Landon D. Hough joined Mercy Clinic Sports Medicine. He earned a medical degree and completed a family medicine residency at University of Missouri-Columbia. He also completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Dr. Ashley Merrick joined Mercy Clinic Pediatrics at Smith Glynn Callaway. She earned a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed a pediatric residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
Dr. Utkal Patel joined Mercy Clinic Intensivists. He earned s medical degree from Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune, India, and completed an internal medicine residency and critical care fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J.
Jenine Vincent accepted the position of vice president of operations for Mercy Clinic’s regional division. She joined Mercy in 2009 and had served as director of operations for the regional division since 2010. She has a bachelor’s in accounting from MSU and 15 years of health industry experience.
Human Resources The Springfield Area Human Resources Association named its 2011 Summit Award Recipients: Parker McKenna of Springfield Public Schools; Carolyn O’Kelley of BKD LLP; Sarah Davidson of Environmental Works Inc.; Leigh Anne Rust of Buckhorn Inc.; and Tina Moore of Drury University Career Planning & Development. The award is presented for support of professional development throughout SAHRA.
Law Zerrer Elder Law Office hired attorney Sativa Boatman-Sloan. Her practice is focused in the areas of estate planning and elder, probate, business and real estate law.
Sarah Placzek Donelan joined the staff of Legal Services of Southern Missouri in the Domestic Violence Unit. Donelan, who received her law degree from Washington University, works on behalf of adult and child victims, coordinating with state and federal law enforcement officials.
Nonprofit The Branson-Hollister Rotary Club awarded its 2012 Flavor of the Ozarks grant to the Branson Arts Council. The $10,000 grant helps fund current and developing children’s programming.
