Accounting
Elliott, Robinson & Co. LLP was named as one of Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work For in 2020. To be eligible, firms must operate in the United States for at least one year and have a minimum of 15 employees. A survey evaluating workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, demographics and an employee survey determined the 100 firms on the list.

Banking and Finance
Commerce Bank named Sherry Lynch as Bolivar market president, succeeding the retiring Bob Moreland. She is responsible for the bank’s market share in the area, banking operations, and business and relationship management. Lynch has 30 years of banking experience and earned her bachelor’s in management from Evangel University.

Craig Wright, wealth manager for Strategic Financial Concepts Inc., was awarded the 2020 Five Star Professional Wealth Manager Award for the second year in a row. The award is based on 10 objective criteria.

SFC Bank added Tim Stack to its board of directors. Stack, executive vice president at SRC Holdings Inc., has worked in the SRC Holdings family of companies since 2007.

Media
Mid-West Family Broadcasting added Cerena Cavanaugh as sales representative. She most recently worked as a business relations representative for Better Business Bureau of Springfield. Cavanaugh’s responsibilities involve building brand awareness, generating qualified leads and increasing brand engagement.

Nonprofit
Rotaract Club of Springfield appointed new officers for fiscal 2020-21: Derek Chaney of Mid-Missouri Bank, as president; Victoria Gorham of Grooms Office Environments, as president-elect; William Black of Commerce Bank, as secretary; Valerie Tims as director of membership; Cristian Rath of Abacus CPAs LLC, as treasurer; Kelsea Suarez of Great Southern Bank, as director of public relations; Callie Carroll of Missouri State University, as director of professional development; and Conner O’Mealy of Drury University, as sergeant-at-arms.

The Salvation Army added four new members to the Springfield Corps Advisory Board: Frances Bixler of Bixler Cleaning & Disaster Restoration Corp.; Kerri Huff of Ozarks Technical Community College; Tijuana Julian of Drury University; and Libby Salisbury, a community volunteer.

The Salvation Army-Springfield added Majs. Jon and Kris Augenstein as executive directors. The couple have 23 years of experience with the nonprofit, most recently at The Salvation Army’s Heartland division headquarters in Peoria, Illinois. In the roles, the Augensteins oversee a $3 million budget locally.

Tourism
Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium was voted America’s Best Aquarium by a national USA Today poll for a second time. The aquarium was nominated for the top 20 list of national institutions by a panel of travel experts as part of USA Today’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

Silver Dollar City was named the top amusement park in the nation in the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards. Two other SDC attractions also were ranked by USA Today readers: Buckshot Annie’s as the No. 5 Best Restaurant and Outlaw Run as the No. 10 Best Roller Coaster.
