Servpro recognized Tamara Blakemore, Daniel Bryngelson, David Bryngelson and Brian Grimm of Servpro of Springfield/Greene County with Chairman’s Bronze awards for outstanding revenue performance during the franchisor’s annual convention in Las Vegas. Grimm is a local franchisee.
Education Ozarks Technical Community College’s respiratory therapy program earned the Registered Respiratory Therapist Credentialing Success Award from the Committee of Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
The sixth time receiving the honor, OTC was among 78 programs awarded out of 358 programs nationwide.
Southwest Baptist University received a $230,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help address nursing shortages. The Nurse Faculty Loan Program funds forgive up to 85 percent of loans for students who become full-time nurse faculty members at accredited universities.

Springfield Accounting Manager David Holtmann accepted the role of interim finance director following the retirement of Mary Mannix Decker.
A certified public accountant, Holtmann has worked 14 years for the city and 14 years as an audit manager for the state auditor’s office.
Dickerson Park Zoo Administrative Assistant Blanche Jones announced her retirement after serving 43 years. The 88-year-old is the longest-working employee of the zoo.
Health Care
Five CoxHealth nurses received Daisy Awards recognizing their patient service based on nominations for the honor. They are Doug Beckman in nursing administration, Holly Letterman at CoxHealth Cancer Center Branson, Brandi Newberry at Cox Medical Center Branson, and Renee Garrison and Amanda Winford at the critical care unit.
The Missouri Foundation for Health added Heather Zoromski as a Community Advisory Council member. The Skaggs Foundation grants administrator joins 12 members as liaisons between communities statewide and the foundation’s board of directors.
Manufacturing
National Enzyme Co. recognized Bio-Cat, Capsugel, Memco Inc. and American Laboratories Inc. as its 2016 Vendor Award recipients. Bio-Cat was the company’s top honoree for high levels of service and professionalism.
Nonprofit
Community Partnership of the Ozarks promoted Johnny McNeil to the newly developed role of community relations director. Previously the supportive services coordinator with the Missouri Customer Service Partnership program, his responsibilities include fundraising, donor recruitment and retention, and resource development.
Robert O’Block, founder of the Center for National Threat Assessment, received Honor Flight of the Ozarks’ Golden Wings Patriotism Award for his service to the U.S. armed forces’ veterans and contributions to the Honor Flight.
O’Block received a plaque that included a portion of a camouflage parachute recovered on D-Day in France.
Peter and JoDee Herschend were selected as honorary chairpersons for the 2016 Cattle Baron’s Ball, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Peter is the co-founder of Herschend Family Entertainment Corp., and JoDee is the visionary behind The Caring People, an international ministry to single mothers.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
