Education The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation donated $10,000 to The Missouri Colleges Fund to underwrite scholarships at its 17 member schools, including Drury, Evangel and Southwest Baptist universities.
Government Springfield-Branson National Airport named Kristy Bork assistant director of aviation-finance and administration. Bork, who worked as the city of Springfield’s internal auditor since 2010, is a licensed certified public accountant.
The Missouri secretary of state’s office awarded the Springfield-Greene County Library a $10,553 Technology Ladder Grant and a $10,000 Nonfiction Collection Makeover Grant. The technology funds will be used to create a business and nonprofit center for researching business and foundation databases and job opportunities, as well as designing promotional items. Grant funding was made available through the Library Services and Technology Act and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Health Care Hospice Compassus-Springfield was honored as a top performer at Hospice Compassus’ annual Pillars of Excellence Awards. The program outperformed 50 Hospice Compassus programs throughout the U.S. in benchmark areas, most notably a turnover rate less than 9 percent and a 13 percent increase in access to quality hospice care.
