Banking and Finance In Mortgage Executive Magazine’s list of the top 200 mortgage loan originators, OakStar Bank Mortgage Banking President Aaron Jernigan was ranked 66th in loans closed in America for 2013. The honor puts Jernigan in the top 1 percent of mortgages closed last year.

Stan Jinks, a financial adviser with Edward Jones, and Whitney Webber, a branch office administrator, attended an invitation-only training program called the Advanced Practice Management Forum at the company’s St. Louis headquarters. Jinks and Webber were among 180 associates at the three-day training forum from over 12,000 Edward Jones employees.
Education Evangel University President Robert Spence will be appointed chancellor upon his retirement at the end of the school year. Spence will have served the school 40 years as president at his retirement. In the new role, he will report to Evangel’s new President and CEO Carol Taylor.
Joy Qualls, an assistant professor of communication at Evangel University, presented a paper on Walter Brueggemann’s book “The Prophetic Imagination” at the National Communication Association’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
MSU earned the Tree Campus USA recognition, which honors conservation and forestation by colleges and universities. MSU has more than 2,200 trees on campus and plants about 30 trees each year.
Government Beth Anne West, city clerk for the city of Battlefield, and Debra Hickey, president of the city’s board of aldermen, each earned the Certified Municipal Official designation from the Missouri Municipal League. Hickey and West completed 16 credit hours of training by the league’s Municipal Governance Institute.

Dr. Randi Green of Springfield Smile Doctor received the fellow designation by LVI Global, a Las Vegas international dental training and education organization. The distinction is awarded to dentists who complete a series of studies on comprehensive aesthetic treatments for dental patients. In addition, Green completed LVI Global’s six-day comprehensive full-mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation program.

Law Local lawyers Janis Prewitt Auner, Julie Brown, Deborah Dodge and Penni Groves were among the 43 honorees statewide in the 2014 Women’s Justice Awards. Auner, an associate professor of management at Drury University, received the Legal Scholar Award, and Brown, a shareholder in the transactional and estate planning groups of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown PC, was recognized in the category of business practitioner. Dodge, a trial lawyer and managing partner at Hall Ansley PC, received the Litigation Practitioner Award, and Groves, MSU’s general counsel, earned the Enterprise Award. Chosen by Missouri judges and lawyers, honorees include trial judges, in-house counsel and legal scholars.

Real Estate Denise Heintz was promoted to partner in addition to her role as director of operations and development at O’Reilly Development Co. LLC. She has 22 years of management experience in housing development.
Sales Jesse Tinucci, a sales consultant with Acura of Springfield, earned membership in the Acura Council of Sales Excellence. Tinucci was one of 12 Acura sales consultants in the United States to receive recognition in 2013.
