Banking and Finance
Guaranty Bank promoted Fred Osborn to commercial relationship manager from and business development officer. He joined the bank in 2019 and has 35 years of experience with Howard State Bank, Commerce Bank, Equity Bank Southeast Kansas and U.S. Bank Wealth Management.

Central Trust Co. promoted Kristin Carter to vice president and tax officer and Maria Stockton to vice president and relationship manager. With 10 years of experience in income, trust, estate and gift taxation, Carter is responsible for tax filings, compliance and up-to-date education for staff. Stockton, who has 10 years of bank retail and trust administration experience, works in a fiduciary capacity on investment accounts, retirement accounts and trust administration.

Education
Springfield Public Schools selected five educators as finalists for 2020-21 Teacher of the Year: Shannon Bossing of Harrison Elementary School, Betsy Cannella of Kickapoo High School, Armando Johnson of Central High School, Cary Sikes of Gray Elementary School and Michelle Slominsky of Sequiota Elementary School. The annual April banquet where the winner is announced has been postponed until August due to COVID-19.

Municipal
The Commercial Street Community Improvement District Board of Directors appointed four new members: Connie Rhoades Hinds, owner and manager of C-Space on C-Street and publisher/editor-in-chief of Tame Pet Magazine; Irene Schaefer, co-owner of Footbridge Trading Co.; Justin Skinner, co-owner of Prixel Creative LLC on Commerical Street; and Ryan Dock, area property owner. Hinds, Schaefer and Skinner’s terms run through July 2023, and Dock’s term, as a new appointment to fill an unexpired term, will expire in July 2021.

Nonprofit
Empower:abilities hired Amy Temple as marketing and development director. She most recently worked as manager of the local fundraising walks for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter. Temple handles marketing and development following Empower:abilities’ rebranding last year.

Retail
Springfield Sign and Graphics Inc. named Matt Law as controller, the first to hold the position with the company. He has 12 years of accounting experience, previously serving as a financial analyst for John Deere Reman. Law earned a bachelor’s in finance and economics with a minor in accounting from St. Ambrose University in Iowa.

Health Care
CoxHealth announced nine physicians joining Cox Family Medicine Residency this summer: Sara Christianson, Joshua Etcheson, Alexandra Jones and Nichole Norgard, of Kirksville, from A.T. Still University; Hannah McCarthy and Elizabeth Moore, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Grant Ralston, of Saint Kitts, West Indies, from University of Medicine and Health Sciences; John Tillack, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, from New York Institute of Technology; and Brittany Dahlager, of Kansas City, from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
