Cindy Gaddie, BSN, RN, director of quality improvement at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, passed the certified professional in health care quality examination. Candidates must meet minimum educational requirements and have a minimum of two years of experience in the health care quality management field. She joined the hospital in 1992.|ret||ret||tab|

Mark McLean was recognized for 20 years of service as a volunteer chaplain for the Springfield Police Department. He is a professor of biblical studies at Evangel University and has a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University. He also has a master's degree from Harvard.|ret||ret||tab|

The Springfield Police Department honored a civilian and eight officers at a ceremony at City Hall. Roni Lewis received the Certificate of Commendation in appreciation of his contributions to the community. Officers receiving the Meritorious Service Awards are Kelly Patton, Richard Noble, Dawn Duncan, Joey Kyle, Mark Sears, Jason Rust, Jason Kitta and former police officer Brent Beckley for their assistance at dwelling fires. |ret||ret||tab|

Stone Hill Winery earned top honors at the Los Angeles County Fair Wine Competition. Stone Hill's 2002 Vignoles and 2002 Late Harvest Vignoles received Best of Class gold medals and also received gold medals in their separate varietal categories, earning the wines "double gold" status. Stone Hill received a silver medal for its 2001 Norton, and bronze medals were awarded for Stone Hill's 2000 Norton, 2001 Chardonel, 2002 Steinberg White, Ros Montaigne, Pink Catawba, Concord and Cream Sherry.|ret||ret||tab|
