James Ouelette joined the firm as a structural engineer in training. He is a graduate of Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelors degree in architectural engineering. |ret||ret||tab|

Lisa Kunst joined the firms structural engineering studio as a computer-aided drafting technician. She is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with a bachelors degree in construction management. In her new position, she will aid in the creation of structural plans.|ret||ret||tab|

Josh Harrold joined Butler Rosenburys business-to-business studio as an intern architect aiding in design. Harrold is a graduate of Drury University with a bachelors degree in architecture.|ret||ret||tab|

John McWilliams joined the firms new federal contract/design build studio as lead architect, project manager and quality management leader. McWilliams has more than 30 years of experience in project design and management for federal and state government clients.|ret||ret||tab|

Matt Capen joined Butler Rosenburys business-to-business studio as an intern architect aiding in design. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture & Urban Design, with a bachelors degree in architecture. The Junior League of Springfield recently elected its new executive committee members. The new officers are: Kathy Steinberg, president; Lagena Scott, vice president; Cindy Waites, vice president of finance/marketing; Kelly Hart, vice president of community; Marci Bowling, vice president of membership; and Melanie Blunt, recording secretary. |ret||ret||tab|

The Southwest Missouri State University Alumni Association recognized nine individuals during the recent All Alumni Dinner & Awards Presentation. Four individuals received the Award of Appreciation, which honors retired faculty and staff members for achievement in their professional or academic field and loyalty to SMSU. Individuals receiving the Award of Appreciation were: Dr. Vencil Bixler, professor emeritus of finance and general business; Wilda Looney, residence life and services director emeritus; Don Payton, information services director emeritus; and Patricia Pierce, professor emeritus of music.|ret||ret||tab|

The SMSU Alumni Association also bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award on Dr. Robert Huckshorn, vice president emeritus of Florida Atlantic University. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a graduate of SMSU whose life and accomplishments have earned the respect of his or her industry, profession or community. |ret||ret||tab|

The association presented the Outstanding Young Alumni Award to Dr. Barry Arbuckle, president and CEO of MemorialCare Memorial Health Services in Long Beach, Calif. The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes alumni who are 45 years old or younger for endeavors in business, professional, civic and other programs that are worthy of recognition and have brought honor to SMSU. Also receiving the Outstanding Young Alumni Award was Kimberly Carlos, of counsel attorney with Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP in Kansas City. Marla Calico, general manager of Ozark Empire Fair, and Grant Lawson, financial markets trader in Nixa, received the Outstanding Alumni Award, which recognizes recipients for extraordinary achievement in their personal and professional endeavors. |ret||ret||tab|

Mike Calton was elected to serve on the board of directors of Farm Credit Services of Missouri for a three-year term. He represents Christian, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Laclede, Polk, Taney, Webster and Wright counties on the 12-member board that serves 102 counties. |ret||ret||tab|

Amy Allison joined Mid-Missouri Bank as a loan officer in its Stockton location. Allison, an experienced banker, also is a real estate appraiser. In her new position, she assists customers with consumer loans and equity lines of credit.|ret||ret||tab|

Andrea Brewer was promoted to financial services manager of Commerce Banks banking center in Plaster Student Union on the campus of SMSU. She has five years of banking experience and was a senior financial services representative at Commerces Ozark banking center prior to her promotion. In her new position, Brewers responsibilities include managing retail sales and customer service at the SMSU campus branch.|ret||ret||tab|
