Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks was named a professional Ensemble-in-Residence of Drury University. The Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks was founded in 1997.

Marilyn Kingsriter, associate professor of education at Evangel University, was appointed to the Board of Regents for Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, N.D.

Bernie Dana, assistant professor of business at Evangel University, received the "Friend of the American Health Care Association Award" during the closing general session of the AHCA's 54th annual convention in San Diego. Dana is chair of the AHCA quality improvement subcommittee.

Finance

Village Bank announced two staff promotions.

Paul Boutte was promoted to executive vice president. He will continue as a commercial lender at Village Bank's 1776 E. Independence location, and he also will oversee business development for the bank. Boutte has more than 15 years of banking experience.

Elain Stahl was promoted to assistant vice president at Village Bank. She is responsible for the supervision of the bank's loan administration department. Stahl has more than 30 years of banking experience.

Jennifer Moore, trust officer for Trust Company of the Ozarks, was awarded the Certified IRA Services Professional designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the American Bankers Association.

Health care

Branson resident Iva Awbery has given Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson $1.5 million for future expansion of facilities and services of the 132-bed hospital. Awbery and her husband Kenneth, who died in 1995, owned and operated a Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership in downtown Branson for five decades. A five-story tower on Skaggs Outpatient Center will be named for the Awberys.

Dr. Lorene A. Van Dam, managing partner of The Foot Doctors PC, was appointed by Gov. Bob Holden to serve as a member of the Missouri State Board of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Steven Quinn, who specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental implants with OMS group, was awarded fellowship in the American College of Dentists. The American College of Dentists recognizes doctors who have made significant contributions to the advancement of dentistry. The mission of The American College of Dentists is to promote excellence, ethics and professionalism in dentistry. Approximately 3.5 percent of dentists are selected as fellows.

Library

Bruce Chrisope was appointed to the Springfield-Greene County Library Board of Directors by Mayor Tom Carlson. Chrisope, a former member and vice president of the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education, has worked as a financial consultant with Smith Barney for 15 years.

Manufacturing

Central States Industrial Equipment & Service Inc. announced that during the week of Oct. 5, the company's shop, field and warehouse staff achieved 250,000 hours worked without a lost-time incident. This represents hours worked since May 5, 2000, when the original goal was set.

Transportation

Terry Bohanan joined O & S Trucking Inc. as a fleet manager. He has 17 years of transportation experience. In his new position, Bohanan is responsible for the management of a 50-unit fleet, and for ensuring on-time delivery for customers and profitability for drivers.
