Nexstar Broadcasting Group appointed Mark Gordon as vice president/general manager of KDEB-TV, a Fox affiliate, with additional oversight of KOLR-TV, a CBS affiliate, under the terms of a joint sales agreement with VHR Broadcasting. Gordon has served as the general sales manager of the stations since 2000. Prior to joining KDEB and KOLR-TV, he was the general sales manager at KYTV, the NBC affiliate in Springfield, from 1997-2000. He has 26 years of experience in broadcasting.
Technology
Janet Nichols joined New Horizons Computer Learning Centers as a technical instructor, responsible for instruction of all Microsoft, Novell, Linux and CIW courses. She has been a technical instructor for more than 20 years, and she is a Microsoft certified systems engineer, Microsoft certified trainer, Novell certified instructor, a Linux certified instructor and a CIW certified instructor. Nichols also has previous experience writing technical courseware for Hewlett/Packard and Linux.
Telecommunications
Telec Inc. announced four staff additions and a promotion.
Mike Mitchell joined the company as general manager. Mitchell has several years of experience in the telecom industry, having served in various installation, engineering and technical management positions. Prior to joining Telec, Mitchell worked in national and branch management positions with Digital Monitoring Products and NuVox Communications. With Telec, he assists in strategic business planning, overall management activities and in the attraction and development of quality personnel to support current and anticipated growth.
David Wilcock joined the Telec sales team as a senior account executive. He has experience in application sales and solutions. Wilcock serves both large and small customers.
Dee Goff joined Telec as executive assistant. She relocated to Missouri from Raleigh, N.C., where she worked for Nortel Networks in the information technology and research and development departments.
Derek Boettcher joined Telec's technical services team as a technician. He is a recent graduate of Ozarks Technical Community College, where he also worked as a computer technician.
Joyce Williams was promoted to senior account manager with Telec. She joined the company as a system trainer and customer service representative in 1995. Williams has experience as a classroom trainer, software support technician and network engineer. She has certifications from IBM, Compaq, Novell and Microsoft.
