BKD LLP’s Springfield office has added Jessica L. Myers, Tina L. Stout and Karen A. Wirtmiller as staff consultants in the firm’s medical billing area. Myers graduated from Ozarks Technical Community College this year with a degree in accounting. Stout has more than 10 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry, most recently with Edward Jones. Wirtmiller graduated in 1999 with an accounting degree from Central Methodist University in Fayette.

Lynn Thompson of Thompson Pontiac-GMC-Cadilac-Saab, in Springfield, was named Missouri Automotive Dealers Association’s 67th president. Jefferson City-based MADA serves 490 franchised new car and truck dealers.
Banking
Wesley A. Brown was appointed to Jack Henry & Associates Inc.’s board of directors. Brown is the managing director and president of Denver-based St. Charles Capital LLC.
Scott L. Noskowiak, vice president in lending at Southern Missouri Bank in Marshfield, was awarded a diploma during the 61st annual session of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The school was established in 1945 to provide bankers with an opportunity to gain advanced study and research in banking, economics and leadership.
Ozark Mountain Bank named Scott Jacobson assistant vice president of consumer lending and Pam Rogers vice president of loan operations. Jacobson was a personal banker for one year at Great Southern and a mortgage assistant for a year with Bank of America. Rogers has 20 years of banking experience, the first 15 of which were with Bank of America. She joined Ozark Mountain Bank in 1999 as loan operations supervisor.
Community
Keri Robinson joined the Southwest Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association as development director. She has experience in fund-raising and phone campaigns as well as special events. She has a socio-political communications degree from Missouri State University, where she previously worked as assistant director of the university foundation’s annual fund.
Kimberly-Shinn Brown, Ozark Area Community Action Corp.’s Early Head Start director, graduated from the Johnson & Johnson Management Fellows Program. The program helps Head Start directors gain executive and entrepreneurial management skills that will enable them to serve the nation’s economically disadvantaged children and families. The two-week program took place at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles.
The Republic Fire Department received a $60,676 grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The program helps local fire departments purchase firefighting equipment, fund firefighter health and safety programs, enhance emergency medical service programs, and conduct fire education and prevention programs. The Republic Fire Department will purchase firefighter hose supplies and gear. The department received more than $140,000 in grants during the first eight months of the year.
Steve Stewart was named executive director of the Upper White River Basin Foundation. Stewart is a policy adviser to Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
The Community Foundations of the Ozarks announced eight agencies will receive grant awards totaling nearly $10,000. The eight agencies are Ozark Regional Land Trust, New Hope, Ozarks Medical Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Ozarks, Texas County Technical Institute and Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation. In fiscal year 2005, Community Foundation of the Ozarks awarded $4.8 million in grants.

College of the Ozarks, in Point Lookout, has made several lists in the U.S. News & World Report 2006 America’s Best Colleges edition.
The school was listed No. 1 in the Least Debt and Lowest Acceptance Rate categories for Midwest comprehensive colleges. C of O also was listed as No. 2 in the Great Colleges, Great Prices category.
College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout is featured in the Princeton Review College Guide’s “The Best 361 Colleges-2006 Edition.” The book commends the school for “offering a very personal education and an ideal spot for students … to earn their degree while growing closer to God.” The rankings are based on a Princeton Review survey of 110,000 students attending colleges in the book.

Tricia Manley, a member of the firm of Eric K. Peterson, CFP, LLC, attended the Securities America University at the home office of Securities America Inc. in Omaha, Neb. The two-day intensive workshop curriculum covered technology, compliance, operations, customer service and practice management.
Health Care
Dr. Dorinda Faulk-ner joined Ash Grove Family Medical Center, an affiliate of Citizens Memorial Healthcare. Faulkner received her medical degree from the University of Alberta and completed her residency in family medicine from the University of Alberta Hospitals in 1997. She has studied internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, intensive care, pathology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, radiology and psychiatry.

Husch & Eppenberger added two associate attorneys to its Springfield office. Ryan T. DeBoef joined the firm’s general business litigation practice group. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
Jason C. Smith joined the firm’s general business litigation practice group. Smith graduated from Washington University School of Law in May, where he was an editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly.

Springfield Business Journal promoted Dorothy Gardner to the new position of associate publisher and vice president. Gardner has been with SBJ for 17 years, previously serving as vice president of finance. In her new position, she is in charge of budgeting and communication between the various departments.
Retail
Michelle Goddard joined Corporate Business Systems as an account executive. She most recently worked as marketing director at Hogan Land Title Co. and previously was employed with Maxon’s Diamond Merchants, Justice Jewelers and Dillard’s. She has completed several selling courses to complement her hands-on experience.
Steve Waddell, Wickman’s Garden Village flower shop manager, recently returned from Hong Kong and China where he reviewed and helped develop new products and techniques in silk flower arranging. He was invited by major silk manufacturer Meri-Vic. Waddell is one of five designers accredited by the American Institute of Floral Designers in Springfield.

Donald Hancock of Federal Protection Inc. was promoted to chief operating officer for the company, which provides comprehensive security services to residential, commercial, and financial institutions across a six-state area in the Midwest. Previously, he was security consultant information technology director.
Tourism
Branson Hospitality Inc. was honored as Supplier of the Year 2005 at the International Motor Coach Group Inc.’s annual strategic alliance meeting in Lake Geneva, Wis. The IMG charter member and sponsor was selected for its support and service to IMG members, and for its involvement in the motor coach travel industry. Ed Michel, Branson Hospitality Inc. owner, also was given special recognition for his development of an exclusive program for IMG tour operators who plan trips to Branson.
