Charles L. Woolley, owner and partner of Kingsley Group Business Brokers, recently received certification as a Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary.
This certification is awarded to professionals who successfully complete education requirements and close transactions each worth more than $1 million, excluding real estate.

Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield inducted its new board officers and members. Kevin Clingan of Kevin Clingan Home Design and Construction is the new board president. Other members are: Rusty MacLachlan of J. Russell MacLachlan Custom Homes, president-elect; Matt Bailey of Bailey Co., treasurer; and Kevin Scheer of Taylor Marble, secretary. Other members: Brett Godfrey, Built by Brett; Terry Ozborn, Ozborn Homes; Tom Maher, Meek’s, The Builder’s Choice; and Shannon Lee, Rock Solid Construction.
Education
Citigroup Foundation donated $102,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund. The grant will underwrite the Citigroup Outstanding Teachers scholarships at each of the MCF’s member colleges and universities, which include Drury and Evangel universities in Springfield and Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
Randall Fuller, associate professor of English at Drury, received a $40,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to research American Romanticism and the Civil War. Fuller hopes to complete his research and manuscript in summer 2008.
Health Care
St. John’s Health System announced six new board members. They are: Dr. Phillip Carr, cardiologist; Sister Rebecca Hendricks, board member at Sisters of Mercy Health System; Dr. Fred McQueary, orthopedic surgeon; John Twitty, general manager of City Utilities; Sister Maria Luisa Vera, president and CEO of Mercy Ministries of Laredo, Texas; and Mike Williamson, CEO of Empire Bank.
Drs. Paul and Priscilla Arnold both spoke at recent national meetings. Paul Arnold presented at the meeting of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society in Chicago on planning and building of an ambulatory surgical center. Priscilla Arnold spoke on Cataract Surgery in the 21st Century during a symposium at the annual American Medical Association meeting in Las Vegas.
CMN of CoxHealth also recently received a $3,600 donation from Hank’s Fine Furniture. Hank’s raised the money during its annual Children’s Miracle Network Anniversary event. The furniture retailer has donated more than $500,000 through the years to CMN hospitals near Hank’s store locations.
CoxHealth received multiple recognitions at the annual Missouri Hospital Association Show-Me Excellence Awards. The health system received first place in the advertising, total campaign category and second place in the video category for its Experts, Friends, Neighbors advertisements.

Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
