Lois J. Weston of Tax and Financial Advisors was elected president of the Missouri Society of Accountants at the group’s annual meeting in Branson. Weston has spent several years on the state board of directors, during which time she received the state membership award.

The Team Inc. added three new staff members. Chelsea Begley is an account coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Drury University. Sarah Leahy is a copy/research coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Drury. Amanda Starr is a marketing intern. She has an associate’s degree in general studies from Missouri State University and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in advertising and promotion.
Architecture
Three members of Bates & Associates Architects passed exams to become Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals. Steve Warlick has been with Bates & Associates for eight years, Andrew York has been with the firm for seven years, and Jarod Michel has been with the firm since 2005. All have bachelor’s degrees in architecture from Drury University.
Construction
David Davis was hired as architectural sales representative for Nattinger Materials Co. He works with architects, general contractors and landscapers to provide technical assistance, education and training on products and green-building techniques. Davis is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and the U.S. Green Building Council.
Education
John Schaefer was named boys’ head basketball coach at Hillcrest High School. Schaefer has been head coach at Mountain Grove and Dadeville high schools, and an assistant coach at Glendale High School and Greenwood Laboratory School.
Springfield professional violinist Allison Steiner was accepted for a summer teaching position at Juilliard School of Music’s Starling-DeLay Symposium in New York City.
Health Care
Sondra Marshall, executive director at the Waterford at Ironbridge retirement community, received the Resident Satisfaction Award from Dallas-based parent company Capital Senior Living. Marshall was selected from 64 assisted living properties in 23 states.
Insurance
Nixa-based Wickizer & Clutter Inc. added five members to its staff. Justin Conway is a multiple line adjuster and has 10 years of experience in construction and restoration. Kirk Belz, a property adjuster, has five years of insurance experience and holds a legal principles claim specialist certificate. Ryan Kyd is a multiple line adjuster and has four years of experience. Curtis Hardy is a multiple line adjuster and has worked for two years as an adjuster with emphasis in property damage. Scotty Williams is a multiple line adjuster and spent 20 years in the construction and restoration field.
Law
Lathrop & Gage was named in a recent survey of Fortune 500 companies by Corporate Counsel magazine. Both Deere and Co. and YRC Worldwide said Lathrop & Gage was a “go-to” firm in the areas of labor and employment and litigation, while Longs Drug Stores Corp. hailed the firm as a resource for intellectual property.

Meyer Communications announced three promotions. Bonnie Bell is vice president of sales. Bell, who has a degree from Drake University in journalism and political science, has been with the company since 1996. Donna Neil is secretary/ treasurer assistant. Neil, who has been with Meyer since 1973, is in charge of the company’s accounting and bookkeeping. Dale Blankenship, who has been with Meyer for 39 years, is vice president of operations and engineering.
Office Equipment
Rick Shirrell, sales executive with American Business Systems in Springfield, received the Gold Primus Council award from Lanier Worldwide during a recent company event in Puerto Rico. The award is given annually to the top 2 percent of all Lanier sales executives in the United States. It’s the second time Shirrell has received the award.
Real Estate
Melanie Pellham and Michelle Clifton of Pellham Residential Realtors received accredited staging professional designation from stagedhomes.com.
