H Design Group promoted Dan Blincoe II to senior associate/creative director of the company’s animation department and B. Todd Bolin to senior associate/senior architect. Blincoe helped establish H Design’s animation department. Bolin has more than 14 years of experience and has been with H Design since March 2004.

Banking

BancorpSouth added two employees at its South Campbell Avenue location. Adam Swenka joins the bank as a mortgage originator. Swenka has a degree in management and marketing from the University of Iowa. Tiffany Barker joined BancorpSouth as a mortgage loan specialist. She has more than four years of mortgage industry experience and attended Weber State University in Utah.

Community

Virginia Snyder, of Springfield, received the Historic Preservation Medal from the Elk Horn Prairie Chapter of the National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Snyder, creator of Snyder Music Park in Lawrence County, was honored for her preservation work and sharing of Ozarks music.

Ozarks Food Harvest added six members to its board of directors: Lori Barnes of Arlington Health Care; Jim Guthrie of Prime Inc.; Kevin Mackey of Springfield Brewing Co.; Mike Pinkston of Bank of America; Todd Sherman of Kraft Inc.; and Jeff Tynes of Springfield Grocer Co.

Government

Jeff Coiner was named director of information systems for the city of Springfield. Coiner was most recently director of information technology for Northrop Grumman Interconnect Technologies, which is closing its Springfield plant. Coiner, who has bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Missouri State University and a master’s in business administration from Oklahoma State University, previously worked for EFCO Corp., ConocoPhillips and Great Southern Bank.

Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau added Gina Tullos to its staff as partner development manager. Tullos is responsible for advertising sales and the bureau’s Marketing Partnership Program. She replaces Laura Whisler, who was promoted to communications director.

Health Care

June Johnson and Shana Tauai of CoxHealth’s Hulston Cancer Center attended a three-day educational course on survivorship care at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, Calif. The course addressed quality-of-life decisions and identified areas of need for survivorship care, as well as issues related to insurance coverage, developing survivorship clinics and quality-care issues.

Dr. David Barbe, president of St. John’s Clinic – Regional Division, was re-elected o the American Medical Association Council on Medical Service. The council recommends AMA policies and actions for consideration by the AMA House of Delegates on the socioeconomic factors that influence the practice of medicine. Barbe has been a St. John’s family medicine physician in Mountain Grove since 1983.

Insurance

Susan McFarland joined PJC Insurance as manager of customer service and assistant in the company’s corporate health department. She has 25 years of experience in employee benefits with companies in Missouri and Ohio.

Law

Gary Cunningham, an attorney with Lathrop & Gage LC’s Springfield office, was named one of the top commercial litigators in Missouri by Chambers USA, the producer of an annual guide to the legal profession. Chambers USA ranked the top lawyers and departments in various areas of commercial law, using more than 10,000 interviews with private practice attorneys and in-house counsel nationwide.

Carrie Gerischer joined the staff of Springfield-based Legal Services of Southern Missouri to represent low-income people in the Rolla area. Gerischer received her law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She previously worked in the Missouri public defender system.

Sales

Springfield-based Copy Products Inc. presented several employee awards. Vicky Stout received the company’s Millennium Award, recognizing the employee of the year. She has served the Iola, Kan., location for more than 22 years and is the first repeat award winner. James Krokroskia was named Salesperson of the Year; he has been with the company’s Joplin office for three years. Jimmy Dean, a three-year veteran of the Springfield office, was named Technician of the Year.

Casey Chastain, Springfield dealer specialist for Sentry Insurance, received the Sentry Insurance Leader Council award, presented annually to the top five Sentry representatives nationwide for commercial insurance and pension-plan marketing.

Sports

Greater Springfield Missouri Sports Commission elected officers for the 2007-08 fiscal year and appointed board members. New officers are: David Stair, chairman; Brian Mahaffey, vice chairman; Tracy Kimberlin, secretary; and Mary Mannix Decker, treasurer. Additionally, Larry Whiteley of Bass Pro Shops was re-appointed to the board, and Geoffrey Butler of Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. was appointed. Both will serve three-year terms.
