Robert McLaughlin of Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting in Springfield attended Maaco’s Measure of Success convention in Palm Beach, Fla. The convention led to a new business relationship between Maaco and CSi Complete, a collision repair industry leader in monitoring customer satisfaction.
Banking
Teri Bee joined Community Financial Credit Union as a loan officer. She was previously correspondent division manager at Mid-Missouri Mortgage and has more than 13 years of experience in lending.
Greg Ankrom joined Bank of Bolivar as assistant vice president and director of marketing and human resources. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Missouri State University and most recently served as business administrator and associate pastor at First Assembly of God Church in Bolivar.
Community
The Rev. Mark Struckhoff joined Council of Churches of the Ozarks as director of advancement. Struckhoff has more than 12 years of experience as a development officer in public higher education and human services organizations.
Construction
Robert Simmons joined the staff of The Builders’ Association as safety and health services regional manager. Simmons, who has a Master of Science in industrial hygiene from the University of Central Missouri, is responsible for central and southern Missouri. He previously served as assistant director in charge of occupational safety and health for the Missouri Division of Labor Standards.
Education
Drury University named Sarene Deeds as the school’s director of safety and security. Deeds had served as interim director of safety and security for two months and associate director of safety and security for five years. She was a sergeant with the Oklahoma City Police Department for 14 years and has worked in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office investigating felony criminal cases.
The Missouri State University Foundation elected officers for 2007–08 and added three new members to its board of directors. Foundation officers are Pat Sechler, president; Joe Turner, vice president; Cindy Busby, secretary; Kent Kay, treasurer; and Nila Hayes, assistant treasurer. New members are Jim Buford, of St. Louis; Kim Dake, of West Plains; and Mike Ingram of Springfield. Larry Frazier, of Hollister, and Peggy Pearl, of Springfield, were both elected to a second term.
The McQueary family of Springfield was selected to receive the Missouri State University 2007 Bronze Bear Award. The award is presented to those who have exhibited extraordinary achievement and/or outstanding support for MSU. Fred and Ramona McQueary and Bill and Shirley McQueary, and their families, have made multiple gifts to different areas of the university as well as serving on numerous advisory committees and boards.
Evangel University’s student newspaper, The Lance, and yearbook, Excalibur, earned eight awards from the Association of Christian Collegiate Media. The Lance won first place for editorial/opinion section, news section and news/feature photography. It also won second place for staff editorial and third place for editorial cartoon, news story and sports writing. Excalibur won second place for best overall yearbook.
Engineering
Scott Consulting Engineers PC added three members to its staff. Kirk Carson joined the firm as a project manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla and eight years of design and project management experience in storm-water and watershed plans, bridge and transportation projects. He also has five years of construction inspection experience with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Roger Berg joined the firm as a project manager. He has more than 14 years of experience in water supply, distribution and storage; sewer systems; and storm-water and street improvement projects. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota. Kevin Burgess joined Scott Consulting as survey manager. Burgess graduated with an Associate of Science in land surveying from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. He has more than 25 years of experience in topographic, boundary and hydrographic surveying.
Government
Gov. Matt Blunt appointed Randy D. Mooney, of Rogersville, to the State Milk Board. Mooney is first vice chairman of Dairy Farmers of America. He has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from MSU. His state appointment is subject to Senate confirmation and lasts through Sept. 28, 2011.
Health Care
Larry Nanny joined The Manor at Elfindale as its new administrator. Nanny comes from Wichita, Kan., where he was a licensed nursing home administrator. He also served in the Air National Guard as a chemical warfare instructor.
Hospitality
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts named Paul Francisco regional vice president responsible for operational oversight of about 15 percent of the company’s portfolio of properties. Francisco will oversee hotel operations as well as any spas, golf courses and convention or conference centers. He was previously senior vice president of operations for Pennsylvania-based Shaner Hotels.[[In-content Ad]]
