Architecture

Nathan Rapp of Creative Ink Architects passed the Architect Registration Examination and is now a licensed architect in Missouri. Rapp, who has degrees from University of Kansas and Missouri State University, has been with Creative Ink for six years and specializes in retail architecture for Bass Pro Shops.

Richard Hughen, intern architect with Pellham Phillips Architects Engineers, received his architecture license in Missouri. Hughen, who has a master's degree in architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver, has worked with Pellham Phillips since 2005. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and Society of Architectural Historians.

Community

Rick McCoy received the Sertoman of the Year Award from the All-Star Smiles Sertoma Club. McCoy, president and general manager of Midwest Family Broadcasting, serves as secretary of the All-Star Smiles club and on executive committees for several Sertoma events.

Education

Jeff Burnett, director of admissions for graduate and professional studies at Evangel, added undergraduate admissions to his job duties following a restructuring of the enrollment management office. Burnett earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Evangel and spent five years as an undergraduate admissions counselor.

Finance

Davis, Lynn & Moots PC hired Matt Wallace as a staff accountant. The MSU graduate performs audit services. 

Government

C. Gordon McCann, owner of Springfield Blue Print, was appointed to the Missouri Board of Geographic Names. McCann's term runs through June 2010.

Health Care

Several Ozarks certified nursing assistants received the Exceptional Caregiver award from Long-Term Care Ombudsman, a project of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks and the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging. Ashley Pierce of the Ozark Nursing and Care Center, Ella Overstreet of Missouri Veteran's Home, Janelle Goldinger of Christian Healthcare East, and Jackquelyn Taylor of Red Rose Inn in Cassville received the award, which is based on dedication and exceptional job performance.

Pediatric surgeon Dr. Troy L. Spilde joined St. John's Health System. Spilde is board certified in surgical critical care and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group.

Dr. Jeff Gower, retired orthodontist and current CEO of Wil Fischer Cos., was elected vice chairman of the Cox College Board of Trustees. Gower has been a board member since 2006 and a member of the CoxHealth Board since 1985.

CoxHealth registered nurse Connie Ilkiw became a certified nurse educator after completing the certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing.

Dr. John F. Best joined Citizens Memorial Healthcare's medical staff. Best, who is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He also completed a post fellowship at the Quebec Heart Institute. 

Dr. Scott Kutz joined St. John's Clinic-Neurosurgery. He received his medical education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his residency with Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Kutz is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgeons. 

Chris Bos was named human resources manager for St. John's Health System. Bos, who has been with the health system since March 2002, primarily focuses on benefits, and co-worker satisfaction and engagement. He has a bachelor's degree in human resource management from MSU and has Professional in Human Resources certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.
