Dr. Roger Buzbee, also of Buzbee Dental clinic, attended a course on diagnosing temporal mandibular disorders at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Drs. Mitchell A. Ahrens and Stephen R. Clum joined the pulmonology department of Ferrell-Duncan Clinic. Ahrens earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Arkansas and completed a fellowship with University of Alabama-Birmingham. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. Clum earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of South Florida. Clum is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
Citizens Memorial Healthcare added board-certified family practitioner Dr. Malcolm Oliver to the Dade County Family Medical Clinic. Oliver attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed family practice residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend, Ind.
Dr. Samson Liu received the Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry during its annual meeting in Orlando, Fla. Liu received the award, the highest honor available from the AGD, for completing 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 dental disciplines, including 400 hours of hands-on work.
Insurance
Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance added two employees to its employee benefits department. Stan Robinson has 22 years of professional sales and service experience, and Shelli Anderson has 12 years of service experience.
Courtney McCurdy, an agent for Farmers Insurance Group in Ozark, completed the five-day Career Agents Course at the University of Farmers training facility in Agoura Hills, Calif.
Insurance Association of the Ozarks, an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Women and Men International, named its board members and officers.
