Jamey McFadden joined H Design Group as visual communication specialist. He has nearly three years of experience in design development, 3-D modeling and rendering, construction administration and code reviews. McFadden has an architecture degree from Mississippi State University.

Community

Boys & Girls Town of Missouri received a $17,250 donation from the Earl and Elizabeth Toutz Charitable Trust. The gift will fund adventure therapy programs for children who struggle with emotional and behavioral problems due to abuse and neglect.

Education

Evangel University junior Victoria Martinez received a $938 scholarship from Missouri College Fund's Enterprise Rent-A-Car Scholars Program. Martinez is a management major and serves as public relations and marketing manager for Evangel SIFE.

Suzanne Cutbirth, director of the southwest regional Professional Development Center at Missouri State University, received a contract agreement from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for nearly $1.8 million.

MSU Associate Provost Christopher Craig and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist Aundrayah Shermer received a $75,000 grant from DESE for the Blind Skills Specialist project.

Neal Lopinot and Dustin Thompson of MSU's Center for Archaeological Research received a $12,789 contract for commercial items from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' St. Louis district for the "Phase-One Archaeological Survey of Borrow Pits, Levee Sides, Levee Branches and Type-Two Eroded Areas" project.

Matthew Morris, MSU director of business and support services, received a $10,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation's Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance program. TRIM is a competitive cost-share program that provides financial assistance for management, improvement and conservation of urban and community forests.

Central and Parkview high schools are among 36 Missouri public high schools on U.S. News and World Report's bronze medal list, which recognizes schools for significantly outperforming state education standards.

Health Care

The Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries honored two St. John's Hospital Auxiliary units for their volunteer services. St. John's Hospital - Aurora Auxiliary was honored for donations by its 60 members of $25,000 in funds and equipment and more than 14,450 hours of service. The St. John's Hospital - Springfield Auxiliary's 648 members performed 139,589 hours of volunteer work in 68 different in-service hospital activities.

Vicki Good, director of nursing at CoxHealth, received Executive Nursing Practice certification from the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Certification is based on knowledge of the health care industry, nursing leadership, professionalism, business skills, communication and relationship building.

Dr. Randall Barnes joined Lake Regional Health System at its Lake Regional Urgent Care. A family practitioner, he previously operated Barnes Medical Clinic in Lake Ozark and also has worked in family practice clinics in Eldon and Kirksville.

Citizens Memorial Healthcare named Michael Fendya finance director. Fendya previously worked for Surgical Synergies in Eureka and has experience in financial management, directing, budgeting, business development and financial analysis.

Dr. Alex Keller, an anesthesiologist, joined St. John's Health System. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and performed her internship at Creighton University Department of Internal Medicine. She completed her residency training with the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and had an obstetrics fellowship in anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Brian Tibbs, a surgeon, joined St. John's Clinic-General & Trauma Surgery. He received his medical education and completed his residency with University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed fellowships in trauma and surgical critical care at Emory University School of Medicine.[[In-content Ad]]
