Ozarks Health Advocacy Foundation presented Ozarks Food Harvest a $7,500 grant to help fund the food bank's mobile food pantry, which delivers food and other needed items to rural communities.
Education
Rev. John F. Plake was named Evangel University campus pastor and director of spiritual life. He was formerly Evangel's missionary in residence, teaching theology and coordinating mission trips. In his new role, Plake coordinates chapel services, leads student ministries and runs campus spiritual development programs.
The OTC Foundation, the fundraising organization for Ozarks Technical Community College, added five directors to its board: Steve Plaster, owner and CEO of Evergreen Investments LLC; Bob Beine, owner of Beine Automotive Group; Jim Towery, president of Steelman Transportation; Neal Spencer, managing partner of BKD; and John Lambert, president of Missouri Insulation & Supply Inc.
The Edward D. Jones & Company Foundation donated $18,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund, part of which will locally benefit Evangel University. The grant will be split between 16 private liberal arts colleges in Missouri and will underwrite the Edward Jones Scholars Program. Scholarships will be awarded to business and finance students based on financial need as a result of the funding.
Adam Meador was named Bingham Elementary School principal. Meador taught three years in Branson's school district and has taught in Springfield since 2005, most recently as summer school administrator at Disney Elementary. Meador received a Master of Education from Evangel University and is working toward a doctorate in education at Lindenwood University.

Accounting Today ranked The Whitlock Co. No. 74 on its list of Wealth Magnets for 2009 based on assets managed. The company was No. 104 in 2008.
OakStar Bank hired Jimmy Stilley as credit administration officer. Stilley analyzes performance data and monitors portfolio quality. He graduated with a finance degree from Missouri State University and previously served as a credit analyst at BancorpSouth.
Guaranty Bank Treasurer Derek Fraley presented an online banking seminar, "Asset Liability Committee Participation in Asset Liability Management," for the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis. Fraley, chairman of Guaranty Bank's asset liability committee, is responsible for deposit pricing, financial modeling and liquidity management.
MSU received a $76,840 matching grant from the Internal Revenue Service to operate a low-income taxpayer clinic in 2009. The LITC represents low-income taxpayers in federal tax controversies with the IRS for free or a nominal charge, and provides tax education and outreach for taxpayers who speak English as a second language.
Springfield-based asset management firm Douglas Bagwell & Co. hired Tim Hays as marketing director. Hays has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, including 11 years with an international real estate franchise corporation based on the West Coast.
Joy Wead joined LFE Institute as coordinator in the company's Certified Workplace Money Coach division. Wead has more than 35 years of finance and accounting experience and earned a degree in management from St. Mary's College of California.

Trisha Holbert, vice president for human resources at St. John's Health Center, joined McAuley Counseling Services Inc.'s board of directors.
Theresa Dill, administrator at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, was named Administrator of the Year by the Missouri Health Care Association. Dill has been an administrator at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare center for a year.
Dr. Peter Warner joined CoxHealth as a hospitalist, meaning he only sees hospitalized patients. Warner attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency with the Michigan State University Consortium.
Dr. Robert D. Cagel joined Citizens Memorial Healthcare as a board-certified otolaryngologist. Cagle graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital and Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital.
Renee L. Bartlett joined Citizens Memorial Heatlhcare as a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist. Bartlett graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency at KU Medical Center.
