Dale and Ruth Ann Schavey received the 2009 Community Service Award from the Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. The two were recognized for Dale Schavey's work with Christian Associates, the Kimberling City Senior Center and the Kimberling City Library, and for Ruth Ann Schavey's six years on the library board.
Education
The UPS Foundation awarded Evangel University junior Brittany Sumrall a $2,700 scholarship. Sumrall is studying advertising and public relations.
Two Missouri State University professors received a nearly $40,000 subcontract from HNTB Corp. for archaeological research. Term instructor Jack Ray and Neal Lopinot, director of the Bernice Warren Center for Archaeological Research, will use the money to investigate and date archaeological deposits near the lower Sac River.
Wenping Qiu, an associate research professor of agriculture at MSU's Mountain Grove Campus, was reappointed as adjunct professor by China Agricultural University. Qiu has held the adjunct professor position since 2005.
MSU's Jeffrey Cornelius-White received the 2010 American Psychological Association Division 32 Humanistic Psychology Carmi Harari Award. Cornelius-White is associate professor of counseling leadership and special education. The award is to recognize contributions in areas of inquiry, application and social action.
Finance
Reece Tarwater was promoted to branch manager at the Arvest Bank's Nixa Walmart Supercenter branch. Tarwater oversees the branch's daily operations, retail associates and consumer loans.
Trust Company of the Ozarks administrative assistant Tricia Yim earned a diploma from Topeka, Kan.-based School of Trust and Financial Services.
Northwestern Mutual awarded financial representative Brent Curtis its Pacesetter First 40 award. Curtis works in the company's RPS Financial Group in Springfield and earned the award by obtaining 40 clients during his first six months.
Guaranty Bank added Ryan B. White to its residential lending team. White's responsibilities include developing new mortgages and providing customer service to existing clients.
Patty Johns, trust officer at Trust Company of the Ozarks, earned the designation of certified trust financial adviser from the American Bankers Association's Institute of Certified Bankers.
Johns obtained her bachelor's degree in finance with an emphasis on insurance from MSU.
She also graduated from the School of Trust and Financial Planning Lincoln, Neb., and the Southern Trust School at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.[[In-content Ad]]
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
