Eric C. Street of Sapp Design Associates Architects PC received his architecture license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Street, a Drury University graduate and American Institute of Architects member, has worked at SDA Architects for 10 years.

Education

The Commerce Bancshares Foundation donated $15,000 to The Missouri Colleges Fund. The grant money will underwrite the Commerce Bancshares Teacher Scholars Program by providing scholarship at member schools, including Drury, Evangel and Southwest Baptist universities.

Missouri State University honored Tammy Tindle and Brenda Malkowski with Staff Excellence in Community Service awards. Tindle is a mental health professional and licensed professional counselor in the university's Counseling and Testing Center. Malkowski is director of the university/community programs department in West Plains.

 Six MSU staff members were recognized with Staff Excellence in University Service awards: Veronica Adinegara, publications; Ben Boslaugh, facilities maintenance; Cheryl Caldwell, university communications, West Plains; Brian Edmond, computer services; Rob Hornberger, office of the registrar/enrollment services; and Martha Tuttle, business and support services, West Plains. Recipients received a $1,500 cash award.

Engineering

Mechanical Engineer Abby Thurman earned her professional engineer license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Thurman has been with Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. since 2005. She earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor's in mathematics from Drury University.

Information Technology

Alexander Open Systems hired Tom Boehmer as account manager for health care and commercial markets in southwest Missouri. He has more than 18 years of information technology experience, most recently as territory manager for Nortel.

Law

Husch Blackwell Sanders named Cory L. Collins and S. Jacob Sappington as partners in the firm's Springfield office. Both joined the company as associates in 2002. Collins earned a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor's degree from Missouri State University. Sappington earned a juris doctorate and bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Nonprofit

Rhonda Sorensen, a private banker for UMB Financial Corp., joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks' Board of Directors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks promoted Erin Jaeger to director of community based programs. Jaeger, who was hired as a case manager in 2006, supervises staff in the Branson and Joplin offices. She worked as a case manager at the organization since she was hired in 2006.

The Ozarks Regional YMCA was approved for $84,250 in tax credits under the Missouri Department of Economic Development's Neighborhood Assistance Program. Under the program, businesses that donate to help with the creation of the Dallas County Area YMCA in Buffalo will receive partial state tax credits.
