Advertising Matt Sellmeyer, president and co-founder of Schilling/Sellmeyer & Associates, was named advertising professional of the year by The American Advertising Federation of the Ozarks for his contributions to the profession and community.
Education The Musgrave Foundation awarded three $1,000 scholarships to Evangel University education majors Natasha Dash, Courtney Ford and Victoria Nichols.
Evangel University’s Bryan Sanders, professor of government and legal, discussed student involvement in public service and Evangel’s Washington Studies Program at the Capitol Hill Executive Service Club in Washington D.C. Sanders earned his Juris Doctor from Oral Roberts University.
Insurance Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance Agent Stan Robinson was named 2009 Agent of the Year. Robinson works with businesses to design health and employee benefit plans. He has 11 years of experience in the insurance business.
Carmine Ingenito was hired as sales associate at Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance. Ingenito has two years of experience in the insurance industry. He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University.
Law Attorney Virginia Fry, a managing partner in Husch Blackwell Sanders’ Springfield office, was appointed to the Missouri Supreme Court’s Ad Hoc Committee to study expert discovery.
The committee focuses on the costs and benefits of using expert testimony in the court system.
Marketing Ken Thrasher joined Pinnacle Sign Group as national sales manager. Thrasher recruits, trains and oversees project managers. He comes from National Federation of Independent Business, where he served as regional sales trainer.
Greg Fuller was hired at Pinnacle Sign Group as sign service technician. Fuller oversees service and sales for the company’s new sign maintenance program. He has 10 years of experience in sign service, most recently with Native Sign in Branson.
Pinnacle Sign Group also hired two project managers. Joe Mylar comes from Walton Construction, where he worked as project manager. Brad Parke comes from Pellham-Phillips Architects and Engineers, where we worked as director of marketing and business development.
Nonprofit Gretchen Gambon was named director of development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks. Gambon has more than 20 years of experience working with children and families, most recently as executive director of Isabel’s House, the Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks. She has a bachelor’s in child and family development from Missouri State University.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks named Christi Gibson, assistant director of corporate communications at Great Southern Bank, and Chris Sweet, market executive with Commerce Trust Co., to its board of directors.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield named 16-year-old Aleah Woodmansee as Youth of the Year. She received a $12,000 scholarship from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Auxiliary.
Developmental Center of the Ozarks announced its 2010 board of directors. Executive Committee members are: President Rod Nichols, Carnahan Evans Cantwell and Brown; Vice President Scott Tumlin, BancorpSouth; Treasurer Andy Stewart, Waddell and Reed; and Secretary Crystal Hedrick, Noble. Stephen Paris was named curator of The Dr. Michael J. Clarke Museum of Ozarks Scouting. Paris is a 30-year veteran scout leader and has been council historian since 1985. He also has been a member of the museum’s cabinet since 2002.
Real Estate Ray Meyer was promoted to designated broker at McLoud & Co. Meyer, who’s worked at McLoud since 2004, most recently was property manager.
Sales George Broadley was hired as customer support adviser at Murphy Tractor & Equipment Company Inc. He covers the area surrounding Springfield, south to Branson, and east to the state line.
Dennis Daniels was promoted to Missouri area sales manager for U.S. Cellular. Out of his Columbia office, Daniels supports store managers in 10 retail locations. He has nearly 10 years of experience in the wireless industry, most recently as store manager for U.S. Cellular’s Branson and West Plains stores.
Reliable Chevrolet was named 2009 south central regional sales leader for General Motors Certified Used dealers. Reliable Chevrolet was chosen out of 648 GM-Certified dealers by selling more than 900 vehicles.
