Arts Marla Rush Parnell of Parnell Studios won Best in Show at the 24th Annual Art Show at the Dog Show in Wichita, Kan. Parnell’s painting will become part of the permanent collection at the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog. Parnell holds bachelor’s degrees in art and graphic design from Missouri State University.
Community Dan Kinney, former director for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, was inducted into the Missouri Park and Recreation Association’s Hall of Fame. Kinney retired from the park board in 2006 after serving 35 years with the department.
Health Care Family Pharmacy honored four employees and one store at its annual awards dinner. Jim Horn of Family Pharmacy Home Medical Supply won the Above & Beyond Award; Natanya Cole of Family Pharmacy Hollister received a Customer Service Award; Chad Rollins of Family Pharmacy Ozark Healthcare was honored as Pharmacist of the Year; Regina Sporleder of Family Pharmacy Branson West won Employee of the Year; and Family Pharmacy Nixa Stonecrest was named Store of the Year.
Insurance Barker Phillips Jackson added four client service associates. Rita Atchison, Jennifer Todd and Julia Gagliardi Turner work in the commercial lines division, and Karen Kelley works in the commercial life and health division.
Marketing Kristin Garnett, promotions team member at The Vacation Channel, attended the 2010 Omicron Delta Kappa Campus Leaders Today, Community Leaders Tomorrow leadership conference. Garnett is a founding member of the Omicron Delta Kappa chapter at William Woods University.
Rebecca Alston joined Advertising Plus as an account executive. Previously, Alston served as regional sales/marketing manager for WC Designs and was proprietor of Pairings Restaurant.
Nonprofit Developmental Center of the Ozarks received a $1,000 donation from Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation to support the organization’s therapy program.
Tammy Mast was hired as regional development director for Lutheran Family and Children’s Services, where she oversees major and planned gifts and coordinates regional community relations and special events. Mast has 15 years of nonprofit fundraising experience and most recently served as home care consultant at Integrity Home Care.
