Michael S. Clarke was named to the Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership during a ceremony at the National Scout Jamboree in Washington, D.C. Clarke represents the Ozark Trails Council, is an Eagle Scout and has been an active in the Boy Scouts for more than 50 years.

Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks’ Shirley M. Schaefer Unit in Branson received a $10,000 grant to launch a new reading initiative. The grant is part of a $1.5 million national award from the Walmart Foundation’s Bright Spot for Reading Initiative for Adolescent Readers.

Education
Jan Robbins, executive director of GYN Cancers Alliance, was elected board president of the OTC Foundation. Robbins’ term runs through spring 2011. Neal Spencer, CEO of BKD LLP, was named the foundation’s president-elect.

Ozarks Technical Community College’s Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program was granted six years of accreditation by HVAC Excellence. The accreditation was given after a review of documentation, a campus visit and interviews with instructors, students and school officials.

Health Care
Dr. Autumn Clark joined St. John’s Clinic-Psychiatry. She received her medical education from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her psychiatric residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Drs. Brandon Sloop, Brian Pallohusky and Jason A. Boehm were hired to work at St. John’s Clinic-Anesthesiology. Sloop received his medical education from Flinders University in South Australia and completed his internship in internal medicine at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. Pallohusky received his medical education from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his internship in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic. Sloop and Pallohusky completed their residencies in anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic. Boehm received his medical education from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at Baptist Health System. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Johann Ohly joined St. John’s Clinic-Ophthalmology. Ohly has a medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency at Loyola University and fellowship at the University of Eye Specialists.

Dr. Shannon Woods was hired at Ferrell-Duncan Clinic Family Medicine. Woods attended medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed the Cox Family Medicine Residency program. He completed the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Logan Banks joined the faculty at the Cox Family Medicine Residency. Banks attended medical school at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Cox Family Medicine Residency and completed a fellowship in International Medicine at Via Christy.

Dr. Shelby Hahn
joined Cox Family Medicine Residency. Hahn attended Ross University School of Medicine and completed the Cox Family Medicine Residency program.

Dr. Levent Kahraman joined CoxHealth as a neonatologist. He attended medical school at Hacettepe University in Turkey. Kahraman completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center and completed a fellowship in newborn medicine at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Ahmad Hassan joined CoxHealth’s Springfield Inpatient Physicians at Cox South. Hassan attended medical school at the Quaid-E-Azam Medical College at the University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, and completed a residency in family medicine at the Genesys Regional Medical Center Program.[[In-content Ad]]
