Construction Faith Technologies was ranked No. 10 in Midwest Construction Magazine’s list of Top 100 Specialty Contractors. The company earned a Top 10 ranking in the annual list for three consecutive years, and during the past five years, its revenues have increased by 107 percent.
Education Laura Plybon was named director of assessment and instructional design at Drury University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies. Plybon leads an academic assessment program and evaluates instructional programs, learning and academic services. Most recently, Plybon was National Director of Research for Girls Inc. in Indianapolis.
Missouri State University-Mountain Grove’s wine and distillation program won three awards at the fourth-annual Mid-America Wine Competition. The program received a gold medal for its 2009 Chambourcin, a silver medal for its 2009 Catawba and a bronze medal for its 2009 Traminette. More than 550 wines from 96 wineries were judged.
Katheryne Staeger-Wilson, director of MSU’s Disability Resource Center, received an Association on Higher Education and Disability Professional Recognition Award. The award honors contributions by AHEAD members in the field of disabled student services and resources. Staeger-Wilson also was appointed to a three-year term on AHEAD’s board of directors.
Dennis Hickey, MSU professor of political science, co-edited the book “Dancing with the Dragon: China’s Emergence in the Developing World.” The book was published by Lexington Books.
Environment Tommy Bieker, environmental scientist at Midwest Environmental Consultants, became a certified hazardous materials manager. The certification recognizes Bieker’s ability to identify, assess, mitigate or eliminate the risks of hazardous materials and their impact on human health and the environment.
Health Care Chris Thaller joined Skaggs Regional Medical Center as manager of Skaggs Health and Fitness Center. Thaller has a bachelor’s in physical education from MSU and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
Mindy Kendrick, family nurse practitioner at the Ozarks Community Hospital Primary Care Clinic, added to her job duties the role of clinical nurse practitioner coordinator. She recruits nurse practitioners, coordinates communication between administration and allied health professionals, and conducts allied health meetings.
Diane Meldi joined the board of the National Association Medical Staff Services. Meldi, who holds an MBA from Drury, is consultant for the medical staff at St. John’s Health System.
Dr. James Froncek joined St. John’s Clinic-Internal Medicine-Smith Glynn Callaway Clinic. Froncek received his medical education from Ohio University, completing an internship at Doctors Hospital and residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center, both in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Jessica Birchem joined St. John’s Clinic-Cardiology. She earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Des Moines University, completed her internal medicine residency at St. John’s Medical Center in St. Louis and finished a general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship at Texas A&M/Scott and White Hospital.
Melissa Lee of Mid-America Hearing became a board-certified hearing instrument specialist. She achieved the certification after passing a national competency exam through the National Board for the Certification of Hearing Instrument Sciences.
Dr. Jacque P. LeBeau joined the medical staff at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic. LeBeau graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his residency and an internship in ear, nose and throat studies at the University of Maryland Medical System and a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Missouri-St. John’s Clinic.[[In-content Ad]]
A Springfield couple launched 24-hour fitness center Iron Knights Strafford; Springfield-based Meridian Title Co. LLC made its debut in Mount Vernon; and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in conjunction with the grand opening of Render Flooring LLC.
