Banking BancorpSouth Senior Vice President Jay P. Titus graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School. He was one of 215 executives to attend the courses, which are designed to give participants an executive understanding of the banking business.

Missouri State University construction management students collected honors at the 18th annual Associated Schools of Construction Student Construction Management Competition in Nebraska City, Neb.
The heavy-highway team took first place, and the design-build team took second place in their respective divisions.
Government The Springfield Police Department named Cpl. Matt Brown as its public affairs officer to work with media and develop public service announcements. Brown joined the department in 2000 and has served as a major crimes investigator and a criminal investigations detective.
Health Care Missouri Hospital Association honored retiring U.S. Sen. Christopher “Kit” Bond with the Lifetime Achievement Award for supporting state hospitals and their communities. Bond served 24 years in the Senate and two terms as Missouri governor.
Citizens Memorial Healthcare received a 2010 Missouri Quality Award in recognition of quality leadership and best practices. CMH is one of six organizations honored by the Excellence in Missouri Foundation. Law The 2010 edition of Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers recently recognized five Neale & Newman LLP attorneys: J. Richard Owensby, estate planning and probate law; Richard L. Schnake, appellate law; Kevin Hays Dunaway, worker’s compensation law; Patrick J. Platter, worker’s compensation law; and Christiaan D. Horton, who won a Rising Star for the second year in a row in the area of general litigation. Media Koplar Communications International Inc. hired Jim Prestwood as general manager of KRBK HD, a television station that serves the Springfield and Lake of the Ozarks markets.

Nonprofit OATS recognized Donna Short for her 25th anniversary with the transportation services organization. Short started with OATS as a driver, and now works as an administrator.
