Engineering Mark McKinnis was named project manager and safety director for Springfield Engineering Co. McKinnis has a background in construction and received his bachelor’s in construction technology from Missouri State University. Financial Wyatt Jenkins was named financial analyst at BKD Corporate Finance LLC.
Jenkins, who previously worked for BKD LLP, received his degree in accounting and general business in 2004 and his MBA in 2005 from Missouri State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
BKD LLP promoted Kevin Scott and Ben Stone to managers.
Scott, who has worked with BKD for six years, has a bachelor’s in accounting and a master’s in accountancy from Missouri State University in 2002.
Stone, a member of BKD’s national construction and real estate, and manufacturing and distribution groups, provides audit, review and compilation services for contractors, manufacturers and real estate developers.
Government Hillcrest High School received a $1.25 million Federal Emergency Management Agency grant from the U.S. Department of Security’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

Health Care Ginny Ross received a 2010 Child Health Advocate of the Year Award from the Ozarks Health Advocacy Foundation. Ross is a nationally certified doula and doula trainer. She co-founded the Doula Foundation of Mid-America in 2001.
Ross works to educate the medical and social services communities about the benefits of a doula, particularly for at-risk pregnancies.
She began her career with Springfield Public Schools as a school nurse.
Dr. Loren Broaddus and John Squires retired from the CoxHealth board of directors.
Dr. David Zolfaghari will succeed Broaddus and resign from his position on the CoxHealth Advisory Board, while Squires’ successor will be named in January.
Dr. James Ceaser will fill Zolfaghari’s position on the advisory board.
Dr. Andre Apostal also resigned from the advisory board, and Dr. Kerry Randolph succeeds him.
Larry Lipscomb was named to a two-year term as chairman of the CoxHealth Board of Directors. Other board appointees were James Hutcheson as first vice chairman, Grant Haden as second vice chairman, and Joseph Turner as third vice chairman.
