Luke Fraser, a BancorpSouth commercial loan officer, was named vice president of commercial lending at the Kansas Expressway office. He has worked at the bank since 2006.

Education
Springfield Public Schools superintendent Norm Ridder was named Missouri Conservation Educator of the Year by the Conservation Federation of Missouri. He will be featured in the May issue of Missouri Wildlife magazine.

Government
U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt was named ranking member of the subcommittee on competitiveness, innovation and export promotion. He also will serve on three Commerce, Science and Transportation subcommittees: aviation operations, safety and security; communications, technology and the Internet; and surface transportation and merchant marine infrastructure, safety and security.

State Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, was appointed to serve on two state panels: the State Records Commission and the Missouri State Unemployment Council.

Greene County Commissioner Roseann Bentley was named to the National Association of Counties’ human services and education steering committee to develop legislative policy and communicate with Congress and federal agencies. Bentley will serve a one-year term and is eligible for reappointment.

Health Care
Bobby Robertson, president and CEO of Healthcarefirst Inc., was chosen for a two-year term as advisory board director for the Home Care Technology Association of America. The board serves as the association’s chief policy-making body.

Kim Cash, a nurse manager at Cox South, presented “Creating an Innovative Care Delivery model” at the Professional Practice Models Conference at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas. Her presentation featured the goals, approach and development of the nursing practice model at CoxHealth.

The trauma program at Mercy’s St. John’s Hospital in Springfield achieved Level 1 designation from the Arkansas Department of Health as providing the highest level of trauma care. Level 1 trauma centers require specialized surgeons on duty at all times. The hospital is also a Level 1-certified trauma center in Missouri.

Manufacturing
Butterball LLC’s Carthage facility earned star status for the second straight year in the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program. It was one of two turkey producers in the U.S. to achieve VPP star status.

Nonprofit
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks hired Sophie Pierpoint as development director. Pierpoint most recently served as director of athletic relations and fundraising at Missouri State University, where she was selected as a National Association of Athletic Development Directors Diversity Initiative award winner.

The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross received a $1,000 donation from the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club. The funds will train four Boy Scout leaders as wilderness and remote First Aid instructors.

Stan Krempges, CEO and founder of Wood Re New Corp., was elected president of the Bridges for Youth board of directors. The organization provides free Christian-based after school programs for youth.

The Child Advocacy Center Inc. Approved four new board members. They are: Jonathan Baltzell, Jack Henry & Associates Inc.; Leon Gregston, retired physician; Mike Kobriger, Bank of America; and Jean Nyberg, BKD LLP.

Real Estate
McCloud & Co. Commercial Real Estate named Greg McGrath a sales consultant for buyers and sellers of investment properties, an area in which he has eight years of experience in the Branson and Springfield markets.

Service
UniFirst received a Missouri Water Environment Association Gold Award for its cleanliness of the wastewater it discharges from its Springfield facility.

The association said UniFirst was 100 percent compliant with its wastewater discharges.

Vienna Bowling, office/marketing manager and group coordinator at Terry’s Transport, Tickets & Golf in Branson, received the professional in destination management designation. Recipients complete 40 educational and special project credits within a five-year period.[[In-content Ad]]
