Architecture
Bryon Oster joined H Design Group LLC as a project manager. Oster earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture at Drury University and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited.

Education
Dave Faucett, a community planner at Missouri State University’s Center for Resource Planning and Management and Southwest Missouri Council of Governments, received a $22,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The grant was delivered through Missouri’s MoBroadbandNow initiative, which aims to extend broadband access across the state. The funding will be used for needs assessment and strategic planning in the area.

Neal Lopinot, director of the Bernice Warren Center for Archaeological Research at MSU, received a $62,160 grant from the HNTB Corp. The funding will be applied to a project the center is collaborating on with the Army Corps of Engineers’ Kansas City District to make the corps’ collection of artifacts more efficient.

Food Services
The Auntie Anne’s pretzel store in Battlefield Mall was one of 30 national locations named a Pretzel Perfect Store, the franchise’s highest award. To receive the award among 850 stores, the mall store was evaluated on quality, service and charitable activity.

Government
Kelly Miller was named manager of the Park Central Branch Library in downtown Springfield. Miller is also business librarian for the Springfield-Greene County Library District, and will continue in that post. She earned a master’s in library science after five years in the business world, and is a member of The Network for Springfield’s Young Professionals.

Health Care
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of CoxHealth, received $1,000 from CVS Caremark. The grant will support CMN’s Family Care Grant, which helps families pay for the care of sick and injured children.

Cox College received $25,000 from the Missouri Department of Higher Education. The funding will be used to help students understand and plan for education-related debt.

Sheryl Tilus was hired as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Skaggs Regional Medical Center. Tilus has worked in nursing for 31 years, including 20 years in management. She is responsible for nursing and ancillary services and collaborates with the center’s senior leadership.

Services
Shannon Strother was hired as sales executive at Southwest Audio-Visual Inc. Strother, who has 15 years of experience, focuses on residential projects.

Utilities
Dale Harrington was named director of financial services at Empire District Electric Co. Harrington manages budgets, financial planning, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and joint-venture accounting.

Nonprofit
Terry Hicklin, co-founder of the Candy House, was named president of Retail Confectioners International in Springfield.

Springfield Little Theatre added Marci Bowling, Dr. Dale Haverstick and Dr. Carl Price to its board of directors, and named Kenny Ross board president.

Services
Environmental Works named Chet Blackburn as a field technician. Blackburn is a graduate of Drury University.  

Harry Cooper Supply Co. named J.C. Metzelthin general manager of its Springfield and Branson facilities. Metzelthin, who has a degree in economics from Missouri State University, has worked at the company for 23 years.[[In-content Ad]]
