Derek Williams, vice president of member services at BluCurrent Credit Union, graduated from Southwest CUNA Management School in July. The three-year management program assists participants in strategic plan development and networking in the credit union industry.

Education
The School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute was selected as one of 15 schools in Missouri to make the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The Missouri State University Board of Governors elected Gordon Elliott of Springfield-based Elliott Lodging LLC as chairman for the 2011–12 academic year. Other officers named were Cathy Smith, of Trenton, vice chairwoman; Steve Foucart, MSU’s interim chief financial officer, treasurer; and John McAlear, staff emeritus, secretary. Serving on the executive committee are Elliott, Smith, Elizabeth Bradbury, of Center, and Orvin Kimbrough, of St. Louis.

Bernie Dana, associate professor and chairman of the business department at Evangel University, served as judging facilitator at a four-day meeting of the Master Examiners for the National Quality Award Program presented by the American Health Care Association in Albuquerque, N.M. Dana worked as an executive and consultant in the long-term care profession for 28 years before joining the Evangel faculty in 2001.

Health Care
CoxHealth added six doctors and a nurse practitioner to its staff: family physicians Steven Foote at Republic Care Center, Jenny Griffin at CoxHealth Center-Campbell, Dustin Tripp at CoxHealth Center-Branson and Brian Duff at Nixa Care Center; nurse practitioner Jacqueline Cook at Adult Medicine and Endocrinology Clinic; and pediatric hospitalist Kofi Asare-Bawuah and internal medicine hospitalist Arijit Chowhury at the Springfield Inpatient Physicians Group.

St. John’s diabetic self-management education program was recertified by the American Diabetes Association. The program was reviewed to ensure that specific topics are included in the curriculum, credentialed educators lead the program and continuing education is a priority for the staff.

Skaggs Family Health Clinic added Drs. David Carr and Kelli Gosch to work in the area of obstetrics and gynecology.

Hospitality
The Best Western Music Capital Inn in Branson received its second consecutive Best Western Chairman’s Award. The honor recognizes Best Western hotels scoring in the top five percent of all 2,400 North American properties in cleanliness, maintenance, design and customer service.

Insurance
Robert Meek of PJC Insurance Agency LLC was one of 325 agents to attend the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents 2011 Leadership Conference held in Osage Beach. The conference was designed for agency owners, principals and sales managers.[[In-content Ad]]
