Banking
UMB Bank promoted Shelly Addington to vice president and private banking client manager in its investment and wealth management division. Addington advises clients on custom banking and credit options and creates and manages financial plans for customers.

Addington joined UMB in 2008 as vice president and regional manager of consumer services.

Construction
Jason Bekebrede, owner of Monticello Homes & Development, earned the certified graduate builder designation from the National Association of Home Builders.

Education
Harry Cooper Supply Co. donated $12,000 for scholarships through the Missouri Colleges Fund and its 16 member schools, including Drury, Evangel and Southwest Baptist universities.

Health Care
Dr. Robert Dorsey joined Skaggs Regional Medical Center as a wound care physician, replacing Dr. John Moore, a surgeon since 1965, who retired after six years with Skaggs. Dorsey worked previously as director of the wound care clinic for Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Kan.

Law
Attorney Jon Gold of RGG Law organized a recent Continuing Legal Education seminar regarding disability law for area attorneys at the office of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. Gold is chairman of the SMBA’s Social Security Subcommittee, which is dedicated to the professional development of lawyers who represent clients with disabilities.

Melissa Bade joined Neale & Newman LLP’s litigation and practice groups. Bade received her bachelor’s from St. Louis University in communication and earned her law degree from the University of Arkansas.

John Pratt and Susan Jensen of Pratt, Fossard & Jensen LLC were named Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyers for 2011 by Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters rating service. This is the seventh year Pratt has received the honor and the fourth year for Jensen.

Super Lawyers recognized Warford “Trace” Johnson III of Baird, Lightner, Millsap & Harpool PC as a 2011 Rising Star in Missouri and Kansas. This is Johnson’s second year on the list, which honors attorneys younger than 40 years old or those practicing less than 10 years.

Marketing
2 Balance LLC named Tiffany Pierce to its communication team. Pierce worked previously with various nonprofit organizations and brings event planning experience to the firm.

Media
The Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded KY3 Inc. reporter Paula Morehouse and photojournalist Robin Yancey an Emmy for their news story on abused children.

Nonprofit
Nonprofit Missouri, a statewide alliance of nonprofit organizations, elected Matthew Ennis to its board of directors. Ennis is vice president for advancement and chief development officer of Sigma House of Springfield Inc., which provides inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services to area residents.
