New Zealand blocked the country's top telecommunications firm from buying equipment from Huawei.
Officials with the company, Spark, said the government told them using Huawei's 5G equipment "would, if implemented, raise significant national security risks."
The decision comes months after Australia blocked technology from Huawei, China's biggest telecommunications and smartphone company. The United States is pushing its allies to ban Huawei tech, as well, over security concerns.
