Officials with the New York Post said a rogue employee was responsible for incendiary headlines and tweets on Thursday.
One headline involving Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was changed to say: “We must assassinate AOC for America.” Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York also was among those targeted.
The employee, who has been fired, used the New York Post's internal publishing system to conduct the activity.
The publication earlier in the day said its Twitter account and publishing system had been hacked.
