New York declares state of emergency over polio

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency in an effort to boost vaccination rates for polio.

Poliovirus has been detected in sewage samples from four counties and New York City.

In July, an unvaccinated adult caught polio in Rockland County. It was the first known U.S. infection in nearly a decade.
