New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit against Amazon over alleged COVID-19 safety issues at two warehouses.
James alleges “flagrant disregard” of steps needed to protect workers from the virus at the facilities in New York City.
Amazon four days earlier filed its own lawsuit in federal court to block James' litigation. Amazon officials claim federal labor and safety laws take precedence over New York's rules that address workplace safety. James is accused by Amazon of overstepping her authority.
