New USPS leader doesn't want to privatize the organization

New U.S. Postal Service Postmaster General David Steiner has set his expectations for the organization.

"I do not believe that the Postal Service should be privatized or that it should become an appropriated part of the federal government," Steiner said. "I believe in the current structure of the Postal Service as a self-financing, independent entity of the executive branch."

Steiner took over as postmaster general last week after Louis DeJoy resigned four months earlier.
