New site offers online trading for biodiesel, green products

Posted online
BidForGreen, an arm of Crane-based renewable energy firm American Green Holdings Inc., has launched a Web site to connect buyers and sellers of alternative fuels and related products.

The site, www.bidforgreen.com, offers eBay-type auctions and wanted ads for items such as biodiesel, byproducts and raw materials, as well as a directory of “green” stores and other green content such as blogs and videos.

“We are excited about our ability to match buyers interested in using biodiesel and other green products to quality sellers who can provide them with excellent service,” BidForGreen President Dale Wiley said in a news release. “We have been able to provide quality biodiesel to some of the biggest names in show business, and we intend to expand that to schools and businesses all over the nation.”

BidForGreen has provided logistical support to music tours for Willie Nelson, Styx and Brett Dennen, and to movie and TV production companies including NBC Universal and the CBS TV show “CSI,” according to the release. The business conducts pre-qualification and continued monitoring of biodiesel use.

American Green Holdings was started in fall 2006. Its first project was the EcoOutlaw, a motorcycle that runs on gasoline, ethanol-blended fuel or pure-grain alcohol.
