New Shanghai Theatre

Posted online
The finishing touches are being added to New Shanghai Theatre, the new home of Acrobats of China, featuring the New Shanghai Circus. Bill and Janet Dailey are the developers of the property, which is specially designed for the needs of the acrobatic performers, with extra rigging, more space for backdrops and 50-foot ceilings in the back of the theater. Bill Lennon and Tom Gass of Backstage Connections designed the interior, which includes a sculpture, cascading waterfalls and Chinese gardens. Scott Bockman of Cornerstone Building Services in Springfield is handling the construction and subcontracting for the project, and Allen Johnson of General Design is the architect. This is the acrobat group’s eighth year performing in Branson.
