A decades-old, Georgia-based pizza chain is coming soon to Branson Landing.
A franchisee of Atlanta-based Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is targeting a mid-June opening for the first restaurant in southwest Missouri, according to its Facebook page.
Located near Arcade City and Andy B’s Bowl & Social, the roughly 4,000-square-foot restaurant, 333 Branson Landing Blvd., is owned by Bob McManus, a restaurant franchisee via Diverse Concepts LLC, according to a news release from Branson Landing.
“We have been looking for just the right site for the past several years and this one fits in with our other properties,” McManus said in the release, noting his team focuses on tourist markets.
McManus also is opening an adjacent bar concept called Dude’s Daiquiris in nearly 1,600 square feet at 335 Branson Landing Blvd., according to the release.
Mellow Mushroom, according to its website, serves stone oven-baked pizzas that include menu offerings Kosmic Karma, Funky Q. Chicken and Holy Shiitake Pie. Photos posted to the Branson Landing Mellow Mushroom’s Facebook page show a colorful, tie-dye aesthetic with multiple murals.
Founded in 1974, Mellow Mushroom now has more than 160 locations spanning from Philadelphia to Phoenix, according to its website. The next closest restaurants to the Springfield area are in St. Louis and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
